  2. Seeing as people have paid for the model on the understanding that it would arrive in the original livery, I don't think that changing the doors to represent a livery only carried in the past year or so would be a very good idea. I for one want the model to portray the time when they were being delivered so would not welcome a change to spec, especially at such a late stage. It would have been a good option at the point when we were choosing our liveries though. Cheers, Andy.
  3. Ben / Mike After receiving my TEAs directly from you at the BRM show at Peterborough, I can only echo what others have said. I would like to publically thank you for producing such an excellent product. I see these wagons on a daily basis and the model really does capture the essence of the prototype. From reading the posts above, whichever magazine has said you have set a new benchmark, is completely correct in my book. The bar has been raised yet again and when compared to the Graham Farish Polybulk, which in my view is of a similar standard, the Revolution Trains TEAs offer fantastic value for money. On a further note, I will be supporting you with your forthcoming model of the Brush built type 5, BR Class 92 as my manufacturer of choice. You have proven your ability and trustworthiness by actually delivering a quality product in a reasonable time scale where you have consistently kept your customers informed. You've got my vote! All the best, cheers, Andy.
  4. I Thought I'd add a couple of pictures now it's had a coat of paint. It isn't necessarily going where it is in the photo but it gives an idea of the size compared with buildings. It will probably end up on another board altogether but that one is packed away as the club room is undergoing a thorough clear out! About time too! Cheers, Andy.
  5. Hi Andy. I purchased one of your Electricity Pylons from Midland Railex at Butterley a few weeks ago and had the opportunity/pleasure of putting it together on a demo stand at the Soar Valley, Heart of the Midlands Exhibition in Loughborough last weekend. I'd get some more etched if I were you as a good number of people were very interested, especially in the insulators! Many commented on how well I had put it together, but I quickly pointed out that the reason it looked so good was because it had been designed well - My soldering is far from expert level! I'll definitely be buying another and will probably also buy the larger one when it's ready, for a different layout. Things that add height to a layout really make a difference, so I'll be looking forward to seeing things like telephone masts and radio transmitters added to your range. Thanks from a very happy customer. Cheers, Andy.
  6. It looks as though I have been lucky in numerous ways by the looks of the comments above! I only found out about these models about a month ago, literally as peoples' orders from two years ago were beginning to arrive in the UK. People, like myself, who wanted one were saying that everywhere was sold out. I went straight on the net and found two of the green Totetsu ones at loco1hobby.net. I got both for £178 including the postage and didn't get ripped off by parcel farce either with them arriving in 5 days - I was very surprised. I agree with the quality control. Neither of mine worked, for a start anyway. The small, brass "L"s which connect the motor to the buzz-bars inside had dropped out of both models. It was a quick fix with a drop of super-duper glue and they were away. I found the running very smooth and controllable with it becoming a little better after 10 minutes in each direction on the test track. With regards to the light bleeding issue, I intend, and did right from the start, to be adapting these units so hopefully along the line I can rectify this. Hopefully one will be painted into NR Yellow and the other in to Balfour Beatty. We shall see as they are quite a long way down in the ever deepening pit of kits and repaint jobs etc. etc. that we all seem to suffer with. All the best, Andy.
  7. Extract from 00 TEA thread: Ah, some proper TEA(s) that you can stand your spoon up in. Ben / Mike, I hope you "asset sweat" the n gauge side of things first, I'll take 25 to get you going. IIA-D next then eh? By the time you've got all these out, the layout to run them all on could well be ready.......... HA! Cheers, Andy.
  8. Mike / Ben, As some have already said, an excellent choice in prototype. Appealing to modellers accross four decades, I'm sure these will again sell well. I dont think I'll be having as many of these as I did the TEAs but I will certainly put my name down for a few of each type. The NR ones will go especially well on "New Dalby" and will finally give me something to shunt! Right, now to email the estate agents to tell them that I no longer have the deposit to buy that house! Good show chaps! Cheers, Andy.
  9. A Drewry Car!!! Sorry for ruining the announcement chaps, but the big orange question mark doesn't really hide it does it..........? Andy
  10. Spotted this in 6E54 today. It should make for a little variation amongst all the plain blue ones. Number is VTG 88046. Apologies for the dark photo but it's better than nothing! Cheers, Andy.

  12. Well. Mike, Ben, thanks for bankrupting me! I just now hope that you don't do a 92, otherwise I may well have to ebay either one or both of my kidneys.......
  13. Completely agree Mike. I have just purchased an NCE Powercab and the extra slave controller. Nick explained the system thoroughly to me and suggested this as the best system for starting up in DCC due to nothing being wasted as you expand. He also advised me to go for TCS chips as they had a Pillock-proof garauntee (and here's me writing a good review! The Cheek!) In all honesty this was much appreciated advice and as Nick said, "You don't want to let the smoke out of £80 worth of sound chip". Excellent chaps. Excellent service. Andy.
  14. Same story here. I have sent many many emails and had zero replies. I had an order for around £300 worth of etched sides, some of which were / still are out of stock. I assume that I did not get a response because I hadn't read this first: Extract from FAQs section, Hurst models Website: When will the O/S item be available again? If we know when an item will be available again we will state this on the web site, after the price and "O/S". If we do not know, we obviously will not state a date. Please do not ask for an availability date as we cannot provide one. You would have thought if people want something they would produce it but I suppose it depends on what they have on the tooling. I have been after the Mk2 generators for the Royal train and the AgrEvo Weedkiller train since 2004 and have never managed to get any contact with Hurst at all. I am resigned to the fact that the only way I may ever pick them up is by digging through bargain bins under the table at shows or paying through the nose for them if they ever appear on Ebay. Ah well. Andy.
  15. Surely if you put your money in the pot and pledge for however many sets you like, the sets would be yours for you to do what you wanted with. If you want to try and turn a profit or just sell them to cover your own costs (a risk in itself), it would be completely up to you and you should feel no guilt in doing what was suggested. After all, this will be what any shops that pledge to the project will be doing, and if it gets me an N gauge Pendolino..... Unfortunately, despite all the hard work that both Mike and Ben have put into this project, without people stumping up, there will be no model. Let's hope the people of Canterbury are feeling frugal this weekend!
  16. Ok Ben. Ian, as you've got leaflets, If I have anyone approach us on Tat, I'll point them over to Banbury if that's ok with yourself. I'll come and say hello too! - Also, congrats on the award at Warley, much deserved. Cheers Andy.
  17. Hi Ben / Mike. Can you send me some more leaflets please. I'm off to Canterbury with Tat the weekend after next (which I believe to be the last two days of the pledging period - correct me if I'm wrong). I think I may be able to persuade the owner to put a poster or two up on the ends of the layout. The plan is to sugest either the posters or as an alternative, I'll get the drill out and insert some Dapol catenary - It is WEST Highlands after all! I'm assuming the response will be something along the lines of inserting the catenary somewhere else...... I'll use the poster template from last time unless you have an alternative drawing attention to the deadline. All the best, Andy.
  18. My local model shop, The Signal Box at Anstey, Leicestershire, has kindly agreed to display the posters and leaflets. Great little shop if you're in the area - stuff packed to the ceiling and very friendly / helpful. Andy.
