  1. Those crates are addictive...I went in for one then the wheels started turning and I walked away with 3...
  2. A friend of mine, Chris Wiley, had a business called Radical Flats. He stopped selling them a few years back for lack of a full-time distributor.
  3. Got a bit of work in this weekend. After advices, I cut away some of the front to open the view up and here's where we are...need do dress up the edges and paint them Questions - for exhibition, should I run a strip of LED lights across the lid and leave it closed so you have to look through the opening or just leave the lid open? Also thinking about replacing that big block of buildings with some single story ones, although I will need one 2 story structure to hide the battery pack for the lighting.
  4. Love it! I was wondering a way to hide the off-stage!
  5. I'll say, speaking for myself, as someone who's been in the hobby for almost 50 years that micros, boxfiles, shelf layouts and T-Trak modules are giving me more enjoyment at this stage than anything I've done over the years.
  6. Hello to all, A little over a year ago, I came upon Jason Pierce's Time Shift boxfile on YouTube. I've always been interested in small space modeling and the boxfile is a great medium. I decided to surprise my best friend Cliff by building one for him between exhibitions but he fell ill and passed away rather quickly. I had started on it using a small oval of Tomix Wide Tram Track and some foamcore in a boxfile I purchased from Amazon. His death struck me rather hard and it took me many months to begin modeling again. I know he'd put a boot in my backside for not modeling so I picked it back up. I removed the bail and painted the interior a sky blue with a spray can. Then I fitted the loop of Wide Tram track in, having to trim down the sides to fit in the box. For buildings I am mainly using photo flats that were offered by a friend along with a block of buildings I'm rebuilding that I found at a train show. Nothing is fixed in place right now, just test-fitting. Here's a photo of where I'm at now but I'm wondering if I should cut the front down to give a ground-level view.
