  1. I had a similar issue a few years back with an airfix B set they have small bogies so wobble on the centre pin, I used some thin foam/ sponge about 2 or 3 mm thick and just wide enough and long enough not to foul the wheels pushed over the centre pin it then acts as a rubbing plate if that's the correct term and still allows the bogie to pivot and calms the wobbling down, it did for me anyway. I didn't think of it it was passed onto me
  2. I had exactly the same issue on one of my 76xxx locomotive I have, it was a split gear on the drive axle. Ordered replacement from Bachmann ,well I had to purchase full set of drivers as that's how they come problem solved.
  3. Good afternoon, What you are experiencing was my experience too,I purchased the Hornby sound fitted 08 in fact I bought two and both where very poor runners with sound on or off . I purchased a stay alive after I watched one of Charley bishops YouTube tutorials about fitting a stay alive to a Hornby 08 I fitted it and that cured the running issue, fitting a stay alive does involve soldering it to the decoder , the stay alive I used was a lais and works perfectly for me however i am aware that some people have had problems with lais decoders and stay alive decoders there are plenty of other makes out there. Search for Chadwick model railway episode 4 presented by Charley bishop it really is a good watch as are all his programmes. Regards Steve
  4. Many years ago I had a split joint cup,the one at the motor end that connects the motor to the gear tower via the drive shaft,as the motor rotates bogie one is driving as it should correctly but because bogie two joint cup is slipping it causes the jerky running.for me the only cure was to replace the motor complete with tight joint cups, the joint cups look like they are pressed on and split sometimes. Hope this helps with your diagnosis,of course it could be a completely different fault on your loco, that was the problem was with mine. Cheers Steve
  5. I cant see any DC lines unless there out of shot, but stand to be corrected by the more knowledgeable
