  1. I think you mean Berry Wiggins Clive. Ross on Wye to Monmouth branch for me on this one.
  2. Hayling Island, we had a couple of family holidays there when I was a little nipper.
  3. Haresfield......... LM and GW trains at speed.
  4. Andoversford junction, the northern starting point of the Midland and South Western Junction railway. Take care everyone. Andrew
  5. Just to be different .................Cheltenham St.James
  6. Hi everyone, Chris Nevard highlighted this company on Facebook today.............. https://www.modelux-models.co.uk I've had a look at their website, some interesting models at a very reasonable price. No personal experience of building one so can't comment on that. Worth a share ?
  7. Hi everyone .................. Looks like my home town now has the second longest station platform in the UK ............... At 1,977 feet 4 inches (602.69 m) Gloucester has the second longest railway platform in Great Britain, just behind Colchester (2034 ft, 620 m). This platformwas lengthened as part of the 1977 rebuilding work by British Rail and was intended to handle two Inter-City 125 trains at the same time. Have fun Andrew
  8. Hello Gilbert and everyone .................. I feel that I know some of you so well. The reason, I have just spent the last 5 months reading this thread from the start to where we are today ! A testament to how interesting and informative the thread is. I was raised in Gloucester ( now living in France ), so my foundations are firmly GWR and LMR, 85B Horton Road and 85C Barnwood. Apart from the odd B1, perhaps on a summer saturday special, my association with ER is almost non existant. Therefore, the learning curve at present is steep. However, through the generally superb photography Gilbert that you have shown of Peterborough North. I can now recognise the differences between A1s, A3s and A2/3s, A4s were easy ! ................. To everyone involved in presenting this fabulous model of a section of the East coast mainline, thank you for all the pleasure and keep up the excellent work ........... I am fortunate that another superb model railway, Carlisle by David Johnson, is not too far away, I visited, by kind invitation earlier this year and will return hopefully at the end of next month to shoot some video. If you would like to see how things operated on the other side of the UK and with David's permission I will post a link to the video on this thread. Assuming that the video is good enough Thanks again for the entertainment, I'll check in every day now ! Take care everyone Andrew
  9. There is a very good clip of 21C 6 in this video on You Tube ............ full air smoothed, no side smoke deflectors. Appears at 13 mins 52 seconds, the whole video is worth a watch if you have a few spare minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYhsx9uDBJQ
  10. I too noticed the mobile coupling mechanism, seems to work very smoothly and provide greater clearance around bends, thus allowing closer coupling ! ! is this a new idea from Bachmann ?
  11. Hi guys, I have some Porthole coaches, the bogie design is Interesting, shall we say ...................... I was looking at a review of the Blue Pullman in an old Model Rail mag and the bogie design is the same as the Portholes. I don't have time at the moment, I'm just painting a 1/4 scale P51D Mustang, the culmination of a 2 year project, but I wondered if drilling out the indented copper wheel carriers, having first removed them from the plastic moulding, to accept a soldered brass top hat bush might locate the wheels a bit more accurately. I presume that the bogie was designed this way to allow for carriage lighting, as the B. P. I look forward to your replies ................... Keep yer udders wet this time of the year !
