Hi All. Recently purchased a Keyser dock tank. It ran ok for half hour or so but then stopped. Having had a look at I think the worm gear and the gear on the axle are not engaging properly. Does anyone know where I could get a spare axle gear from to replace it or even better recommend someone who could do it? It's quite an involved job which will necessitate the wheels to be removed and it's just not a job I have the skills for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A new industrial loco I've started on. A Fleischmann chassis, Hornby Bill/Ben cut down frames, a plastic conduit boiler and wooden tanks. Also some parts from the bits box. -

Alan Walters, proprietor of WD models in Chesterfield and chairman of the Little midland society passed away on Thursday 8th December. A great man and great modeller. Will be sadly missed.

THE Christmas Model Railway Show - Manchester 2022!
firefly9 replied to Philip1812's topic in Exhibitions
Ffarquhar (Thomas and friends layout) on its way -
Afternoon everyone. Bit of announcement. The Sodor appreciation society has been offered the chance to take up an empty retail unit in the pavements precinct in Chesterfield. Initially up until Christmas but hopefully longer, we will be setting up the Ffarquhar layout and a couple of other sets to display our work. We should be there most weekends from now up to Christmas except for 10/11 December when we are at the Manchester model railway exhibition. We'll be working on the layout and hopefully doing a few projects where the public can come and try their hand at modelling. Please feel free to come and have a chat, we're in the old Wards shoe shop next to the EE phone shop. Please contact us if you have any questions. We look forwards to seeing you. Sam and Richard..

I'm reluctant to wield a hammer or punch near a loco valve gear though. Surely too delicate?

Glazing signal arm spectacles

I have thought about the quality street wrappers as a good solution previously as well. -
Hi All. I have a couple of locos where the rivets on the valve gear have broken or come away. I want to repair them and was thinking a small home made rivetter might work. Has anyone made one for this purpose or got any suggestions for a suitable repair?

Detailing the Dublo Cowans Sheldon 45t crane
firefly9 replied to jonhall's topic in Modifying & Detailing RTR stock
Hi All. Some fabulous looking models on here. I've set up a company doing model making, miniature electronics and 3D printing. The next project we are planning is an all new Cowans Sheldon 75 ton breakdown crane, hopefully in N, 00 and 0. Please feel free to pay any feedback or suggestions good or bad. Still very early protototypes. Apologies for hijacking the thread. -
Hi all. I have one of the American Bachmann 0n30 2-6-0 that runs on H0 track. It has recieved some damage to it's rear wheel set and its rear coupling rods. Does anyone have any spares of these parts they would be willing to sell. Cheers Richard
