  1. The train automation programs from what I can tell and certainly how iTrain works are based on profiling the locomotives. Once the automation program knows how far the train moves at each speed setting it can very accurately predict the train stop position. If you plan on running unprofiled locomotives then a 3 sensor block with a stop block at each end of the overall block reduces the requirement for profiling. The stop blocks cound be current or spot detection depending on requirement.
  2. Great size for n gauge. Will follow your build with interest

  13. Great work on finding that Mark. Nice to know thas one potential problem we had resolved. I don't think anyone really used the wired controllers apart from the yards so something that keeps the wifi connection up is all good.
  14. Been busy today doing some final work on the scenery and the stock. Fitting kadee's to some stock to provide auto uncoupling capability and improve the look. Done some test running on the main boards to try and get all the glue off the track and make sure the. Ballast is clear of the rails. Few niggles for tomorrow and then it's all into the garage ready for Saturday.

  18. Test running and fit today to make sure were ready for the 27th. Still a lot of scenic work to do but the fit appears to be ok . Done some fettling on the tracks to make the running smoother. Still having some problems with the points and electrics but that can wait until the boards are upside down. Fitted the Train Tronics controller so the signal is now working but the station lights will have to wait until after the show. The test running was fairly successful with both the 3P and 4F performing well. Have a larger pile of wagons to change the couplers on now. Spent a couple of hou
  19. Tested the packing again today, All still fits together with the scenery on apart from one Telegraph pole which will have to be a moveable feature with the trees when they get made.
  20. Ill need help with my boards can do most bits but not the lift up and drop down at the end of the day
  21. This is interesting and one to come back to if wifi doesnt work. I think we need to persevere in the wifi space because if we can get it to work we wont need any throttle infrastuctuure and that has to be easier for everyone.
  22. Thanks very much, lots like it in Dorset so a good fit. unfortunately I couldn't find a picture of the the actual house that was there back in the 20's so thought this was a good compromise, Filled the space nicely anyway. working back towards the goods shed now :-)
