  1. Hi Andy,

I have been trying since November  (paid year subscription at the time)  for RM Gold (rather than paper editions of BRM and for the benefits) ... Warners and Pocketmags initially did not realise until they checked back.  Jess has managed to get me to view previous editions of BRM but gold still does not come up.  Can you think of anything else that needs to be sorted please?  Many thanks.

    Cheers, Peter BB

  2. Your recent post needs editing - you've left out an important word.  Peter

      Edited with thanks.

  3. Your garage is Just like those of the rest of us then.
  4. Ours was a geology field trip - too long ago to remember the details although Pembroke impressed me that much that have since visited although did not recognise much viz Sumer compared with February ?1964? or thereabouts.

    Cheers, Peter

Thanks for sharing, Peter. I was born in 1964, and who could've known that, only 56 years later, I would learn of your geology field trip in that very same auspicious year.

Is there a way of letting Sir Tim Berners-Lee know how many lives he's touched in this way?

I lost my cherry on a field trip, but it was a bit later than 1964, shame that Datsun was never found.

  5. Half an hour went 'just like that' - superb. One slight problem, to hear you the sound needed to be set high but when the information plus music came on between each 'take' SWMBO was not too happy.
  6. To me 'elf and safety' is the term I think of when someone is using health and safety as an excuse for not doing something that they do not want to do and stopping something 'sfairs' safe, hence giving health and safety a bad press and the subsequent reticence of some to ignore appropriate health and safety. I also had H&S training along the line and find that even after years of retirement still look at things that way first.
  7. We both bought a box of Forest in a Box at a Stafford show now, believe it or not over 10 years ago.
  8. Interestingly I do not remember ever seeing a double decker bus on one of Andy's layouts.
  9. So how do the young ones get to know how that model 'railwaying' is a great and worthwhile hobby?
  10. Watched the video and enjoyed. The point I was going to make viz problems hearing you over the locos you had already noted yourself in your statement at the end. Pleased to see that others had the same thought because, as you know, my hearing is not that good anyway. Something must not have happened since four of your videos have been watched in less than week! (NB but have put a capacitor in Cadley Hill this morning).
  11. Thanks for that information Andy, having the same problem with a number of my 'followed topics' as well. Apologies George. Cheers, Peter
  12. Agree- learning FROM feedback AND, like Jeff's threads, learning a lot from what others are doing both in techniques and ideas e.g Dragonboy's coal cameo. Maybe a viaduct in the next one? .. but Plasticard rather then Das made walling. Andy P is (unfortunately!) missed and especially so in the current situation where I am sure we would have popped in on one of our childcare visits nearer to him but his 'ghost' remains. He it was who sorted out the issue on my first layout in 40 years and led me astray onto 'massive' expenditure on model railway interest. Thankfully in the current Covid situation it has paid dividends (only 4 visits to shops since March) as predominantly from amassed bits and pieces Cadley Hill has progressed from an Andy cast off to a layout.
  13. Well Jeff, managed to get here at last and spent ...just under 3 hours from start to finish. Your viaducts and walls have always been a fascination and the current viaduct is absolutely stunning. Have written it down in my diary now so that if it doesn't come up then I can locate it. The garage conversion too was a great thing to follow without having to 'wait for the next episode'. Have great 2021, cheers, Peter
  14. So why does this (long ago followed) thread come up yet Gill Head that should doesn't?
  15. Sorry about that but you have reminded me of the layout that gave me many hours of pleasure adding a fiddle yard and cameos as well as running at exhibitions. Happy New Year to you.
