Apologies but I seem to remember Rob showing his Bananas fitted with Hunts. I can't find that so may have imagined it?
Which Hunts did you use Rob if you did and could you link to your pics please?
Extra close type my old Janner.😉

As on several other Van/Wagon Rakes I've sorted, I shall probably use Hunts on my Bananas, but probably with the existing Couplings at the outer ends of the Rake. I can tolerate a bit of a gap behind the Tender but NOT between the Vans/Wagons.
Many thanks all and have a restful/celebration Holiday.

I may have missed this?
Hunt Couplings for these. Buffers with only a couple of mm gap; anyone got the type they used for this please?
Phil
Either extra or ultra close Phil @Mallard60022 I'll check tomorrow.

Do we know when Loriot P wagons first appeared in service? I have a very old fashioned farm tractor I want to load onto something of this kind.
I don’t have Atkins to hand but I think they were an early ‘40s build. @Miss Prism might know. -
I enjoyed it ,whatever the faults and it was a cracking advert for the South Devon Railway.

On 16/08/2020 at 12:12, gwrrob said:Inspired by a lowmac wagon seen on the @Captain Kernow layout recently I got this similar Wrenn Loriot P cheaply off Ebay and set about improving it. Some three links, weight, new wheels and buffers were added. My usual weathering and now I need to decide on a load for it. It will join my bolster wagons.
Further to this eBay purchase in 2020 and the loss of photos in the RMweb crash we now see it progressing with the start of a load. An Oxford Diecast Fowler plough is on the way to some lucky South Hams farmer. I will tie it down after giving the plough a coat of matt varnish to dull its out of the box shiny appearance. Some sellers want 35 sheets for a mint boxed example of the Loriot but patience is usually rewarded if an unboxed example can be sought. The underframe , as one would imagine, is non existent detail wise compared with todays models. Now do I get the traction engine to match or would it be a too heavy load for a loriot/lowmac.

"GWR Cab side & smokebox numbers" https://www.247developments.co.uk/ex_gwr_cabside_&_smokebox.html
I've always had good service from here and they can do bespoke numbers too.
The same can be said for Fox too.

The weathering on the wooden planks looks spot on. Any chance of sharing how you achieved it?
Of course, I used the weathered wood set from Lifecolor. Starting with 713 with a few coats of base colour. Followed by dry brushing of three or four different shades using a flat shader brush. The links on the platform /deck were given a pin wash using a black /dark wash from Ammo. You can also use this for oil stains on the deck and for the chains.

I’ve said it before but the warwell is an absolute pleasure to weather, with all that delicious planking and rivets , dry brushing heaven.
Work continues...

Work in progress with my Accurascale/Hatton's warwell , with deck weathered using Lifecolor paints. A/C screw link couplings , not supplied in polybag, added to the ends and also used on the end of the Slater's chain.

Did they say what changes had been done?
From memory the wheel spokes flare but @Steve Purves would tell your more if you ask on the pannier thread. They certainly looked better and more advanced than I saw at Warley 2023.

Saw this rather nice GWR Loriot complete with a plough load at the weekend. Very well tied down and inspiring.

No rucksack no bag search just walk in…
It’s a discourage-rucksack measure.
I'm sure it was just to see what camera I use and my meal deal of choice from Morrison's.

Now... If only they would produce a GWR clay wagon to the same standard. Got to be loads of clay layouts that would take a rake or two....
I would imagine others have asked Rapido that same question Chris @2ManySpams 😉

Thanks for the photos, Robin, always interesting to see.
In retrospect I should have took some of the panniers.

FA Cup Semi Final Special coming up soon at ANTB then Rob. Double Headed
Brilliant result matey.
Absolutely buzzing after that Phil, it was a good omen seeing the Wembley arch from the coach window of the Avanti service to Euston. I might struggle to get a ticket for the semi though.

Certainly the Guy outside the main doors yesterday was very good at informing people what queue to be in (pre-paid or no tickets)
Even though advanced tickets holders were held back due to the queue being too long with all the bag searches.

KR Models were also present and absolutely nothing more to be seen on their proposed Mica.

For pannier lovers , Steve had updated models to be seen although I didn't take any photos. Refinements to the wheels and other details have been undertaken now as advised by Mike @The Stationmaster . He's already working on the next batch for these too, including a GWR liveried 8750 version. Livery samples hopefully by the middle of the year.

An enjoyable trip to Ally Pally yesterday and it was nice to catch up with the latest news on forthcoming GWR stuff from @rapidoandy and @RapidoCorbs at Rapido and @Steve Purves and @Accurascale Fran from Accurascale.
Kindly taken out of the cabinet I was able to take a few shots of the EP's for the O18 and N19 wagons.
