  1. Apologies for the quality [mobile] and its not a portrait but I couldn't resist posting my youngest daughters photo of 5239/7829 taken from the beach last week at Goodrington.
  2. Wow those photos of ES were popular but was it because it was late crest BR period or because Mr Clarkson posted them. Either way here's some more of the same train.
  3. Putting on my best 'Jeremy Clarkson' voice, some call them 'spaceships' and some have come to know them also as a 'Finching's swooning machine' but I know her better as BR 9f class 92220 'Evening Star' and here she is on a down parcels in the summer of 1960 heading for Plymouth.I don't know for sure whether she ran over the South Devon banks in BR days. The rolling stock comprises of Hornby Hawksworth full brakes and Bachmanns GUV/Mk1 BG full brake .
  4. You need to wait till November 5th to paint those Parkside gunpowder wagons.
  5. Fabulous modelling Mikkel.I particularly like the 'Farthing' lettering and how you got the transfers to sit down nicely, something I struggled with on a Coopercrap cattle wagon I built. How long did this diagram last in service ?
  6. Lovely work as usual Mark especially the paintwork on those wagons. There's a housing estate being built on the former site where your tractor was built. So Fergie tractors weren't always red then and all thats missing is a glass of cider for those figures.Bring on the GWR...
  7. I thought I'd take a few new photos that shew off the fiddleyard a bit clearer as it seems to have caused some interest. It also has a backscene [Totnes] but has faded badly in the years since fitted and I will probably replace it soon with another from the ID range to match the one I did recently. The line nearest the baseboard edge is wired for two controllers so using my Gaugemaster combi I can run a train independently of the other two up lines and park up at the engine shed or run it in on a rolling road etc.The track is ballasted as I did the rest and is Green Scene 2mm in various colours mixed.
  8. Very much so and so easy to replicate with the available Monty's casting.Excellent work Al.
  9. Ex GWR 15xx class 1501 at Coventry Colliery in 1967. 6017 'King Edward IV' at unknown location ,possibly Swindon 1957.
  10. Yes and I've ballasted it .It has only 6 roads [3up/3down] which is really quite a squeeze for my stock needs so a lot of my stock has to be stored in drawers underneath and brought out when needed. The roads can hold an eight coach train if needed. As you can see I've modelled some houses alongside it too so maybe I can't call it a fiddle yard as such.
  11. I've just realised that some of these photos are with the old faded backscene on so maybe I need to take some fresh versions with the new scenery in place.
  12. 50,and I'd like to put on record a thanks to all the regular contributors on here and for everyones likes etc.I wish I could give you something new to look at. Yes I know and its unbelievable really although sometimes it feels like a GWR/WR club meeting place than a layout thread.Anyway I digress,I'm not a big fan of overall shots but as you asked nicely Dave especially for you warts and all.The third one I'm pretty sure I've not shown before.
  13. Marriage is like a pack of cards. At first its all hearts and diamonds but eventually you want either a spade or a club...

  14. I thought Elisabeth Taylor held the record of being married 7 times but Allan has beaten it with his 11. Seriously ,great modelling thread.
  15. Its like the top of my head when the sun catches it,in this case the lighting rig for the photo. Yes there is a gap but its accentuated due to the curve but I must do better.
  16. A bit of an eclectic mix of photos converted to grayscale... At least Arthur and Augustus are sober and was it really back in March that I first introduced them to this thread.
  17. Yes me too and closer inspection of the nameplate reveals it has lining too ! Are the details on the Hornby 5205 class correct to model 5239 before preservation ?
  18. My eyes are drawn to the delicious motive power in the shot and I hadn't noticed the box till it was brought to my attention.Fabulous work all round.Incidently, how popular would a RMweb member's visit to see this layout be I wonder.
  19. Whilst I was holidaying in the South Hams I thought of you Alan when I spotted a 'Tally Ho' coach on its journey between Totnes railway station and Kingsbridge.I'd love a model of one from the early days of that company. It would also be nice to see your characters catch a train to Brent.
  20. Back on topic and I really must get round to taking some fresh photos but in the meantime here's some more b&w conversions of whats got before.I need your help in what you'd like to see motive power wise in future photo sessions. Seeing the banner above from BRM's current issue with the superb 'Hungerford' in has made me yearn for more coaching stock especially as the new Star is imminent.I've seen that layout in the flesh and its rolling stock is mouthwatering as well as the excellent scenics. The way they've modelled the lineside fencing is a work of art and deserves an article on its own.Very inspiring.
  21. They made a song called 'The caravan of love'. A big hit in the eighties.Sorry Stubby.
  22. Those of us who remember the late 70's with fondness will like this clip for Harmony hairspray as used above.Great scenics by the way. Is she or isn't she ?
