  1. Evening Mark. That hedging was done very easily using rubberised horsehair cut to size and then soaked in diluted pva/water. Then sprinkle your favourite scatter over it in a mix of colours .You might need to to this a couple of times.Use neat pva to fix it to layout. Talking of the scenics,I'm putting together a demo on how I did the embankments as I'm redoing the far end where I used the usual scatter mix way as opposed to using meadow scenic mats and static grass which is all the rage nowadays.I won't be using a Grassmaster either ! http://www.green-scene.co.uk/Accessories.html
  2. Thanks Jonte and here's another blink and you'll miss it video of 92220 on a down parcels which include maroon Hawksworth full brakes. I thought I was suppose to be a G W R modeller.
  3. Back to 3440 'City of Truro' on a run through Brent with a b set comprising a pair of kit built diagram E129's from Comet.A very short video to hopefully enjoy too.
  4. At the end of the row of various houses stands a corner shop come general stores owned by proprietor Joseph Auld. Here we see George and Mary Rouncewell at cross purposes shopping.George has his head in his racing paper, studying the form but he never has a winner.Mary's thoughts are on today's dinner and something in the shop window has caught her eye.Maybe its the freshly made pasties with correct side crimping for this part of the world. This is the Townstreet shop made a few years ago now and a joy to build, paint and adorn with enamel type signs of yesteryear. The interior with lighting has the Langley grocers shop castings used to great effect.
  5. An early morning freight turn returns to the fiddle yard as the photographer catches 87xx class pannier tank 3796 and a few wagons passing the backs of the Station Road houses.
  6. Well 3440 has returned a bit later light engine and picks up a single coach for a trip out in South Devon. She will return later as she's due a trip down the branch to Kingsbridge. The last photo shows the rear of the houses from my fiddle yard.
  7. Well you didn't have long to find the answer as a double header thunders under the overbridge with 3440 leading 92220 on a preserved excursion to Plymouth.57 years seperate these two iconic Western locos but aren't we lucky to have them both still today.
  8. Well the shed foreman got the shock of his life this morning when he turned up for work at Tigley Junction shed.A celebrity was in town.3440 City class 'City of Truro' Another 'wow' model from Bachmann I had to have.I wonder what turns we'll see her on this weekend.
  9. Excellent work on the super saloon Castle but I wish I'd seen that roof detail photo five or more years ago when I built my centenaries.Very tempting especially as I have photos of boat train usage pulled by Stars.Very modellable.
  10. I was thinking of Ian Rush who said of his playing days in Italy of it like being in a foreign country. Not many are there.
  11. Who was the last English top flight player to move to a foreign club to better themselves whilst in their prime.
  12. The Jukebox in the corner blasting out my favorite song The nights are gettin' warmer it wont be long Wont be long till summer till summer comes Now that the boys are here again .The boys are back in town.

  13. I particularly like the Grey Cars coach and the Morris PO van in the car park.Lovely modelling Alan.
  14. Following Royal Mail's new T & C's paints can't be posted by them.Courier service now but pricey.Don't know of many model shops who sell the paints so lets see what happens here. http://www.phoenix-paints.co.uk/news/ https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151413075663207&set=a.371681018206.157212.176420418206&type=1&theater
  15. I'd thought I show you my buildings on Station Road. This is an eclectic mix of scratchbuilt and yes, the afore mentioned Scaledale terrace houses. All detailed to some extent including the gardens. The rooves will be tidied up when I'm totally finished and they are secure on their bases.I'm not quite sure how I'll do that yet.The wall in the foreground is by Townstreet and are plaster castings.Lovely to paint. The trackwork is actually my fiddle/storage yard ! All being well I'm going to revamp the scenics on this section at the weekend after all it is Spring. There's no washing out though.Just as well it might get soot on it. !The last photo shows the fronts of the terrace houses all with different colour front doors painted.
  16. Very neat and tidy Mark. Are you sure you have enough stock for your first show and good luck with it.
  17. Here's an example of a simple kit built building sat unassuming on my layout but fits in well all the same.Built from the Wills kit and bedded in using the Treemendus earth scatter mentioned earlier. The grass embankment is going to have a revamp using Green Scene foliage mats and static grass through my Noch puffer bottle.More adventurous modellers would have had the doors open and a detailed interior but hey ho.Even with the nice Scaledale buildings available and I do have some, but its still good to build a kit or two to give a bit of individual charm.
  18. Another Hornby loco down due to a broken loco/tender connection wire.I really hope the Star has something better.

  19. I'd better watch out then.I might be the first RMweb member to be sued by a fellow member for causing a repetitive sprain injury. Alternatively I could become a Millwall fan as no one likes us.
  20. A bit of fun here as my renumbered Bachmann 4575 class 5525 pulls in with recently finished Comet E147 coach. The firemans forgot to change lamps from a freight turn.5525's 1930s livery is now a bit early GWR for me but it won't be changed now.The coach is now painted as seen earlier in the thread. The coach livery and build was discussed here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/62197-gwr-b-sets-livery/?hl=e147 and here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/49589-gwr-b-set-diagram-e147/?hl=e147
  21. Nice work and you can't beat some static grasswork. A big difference from modelling the Teign Valley line too.
