  1. Poor quality photo but here is W1719W in blue and grey at Old Oak Common on 16 April 1967.
  2. I’ve used very thin brass sheet and pressed a sharp point into the back to create the impression of rivets on the front.
  3. I have an old MTK white metal EM1 but that’s probably not going to be much help to you.
  4. Thank you all for your replies, very helpful.
  5. Hi all, were any of the T-stock ever painted red or were they always brown? Thanks, Lee
  6. Now sold out but still some available from Leopold Halling in Austria.
  7. Still in use on the Ebbw Vale branch.
  8. It does indeed. Here’s one I made earlier.
  9. Can anyone suggest a shade of white for LNER coach roofs in 4mm scale, please? Ordinary white looks a bit too bright and clean so I would like something slightly dulled down. I might give it a very light coat of weathering too. I’m putting together a set of Coronation coaches that I’ve had for at least 20 years.
  10. I would certainly be interested in this model.
  11. Thanks, Clive. It appears that Keen Systems have Gresley bogies so I might try them.
  12. Good work, Clive. I’m thinking of doing a similar project. What bogies did you use?
  13. The glazing for the mk1 suburbans is now available. I was there a couple of weeks ago and bought some.
  14. The 0-8-0 Sentinel - is it one of these locos? Photographed at Ebbw Vale Steel Works.
  15. I’ve had no problem with storage in the loft over many years so long as everything is boxed up and kept at floor level. As others have said, temperatures range from freezing to heatwave so don’t be tempted to pile it up as the temperature at head height is considerably higher than at floor level.
  16. I’m very tempted by CC1 in grey and 20001 in blue. They will make a nice addition to my collection of 20003 models (one still under construction).
  17. No. Clearly I’m late to the party…!
  18. I’ve just discovered that Kernow in conjunction with EFE Rail are producing CC1 and CC2 in all their liveries. Available early 2024: https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/86196/E82002-EFE-Rail-SR-Bulleid-Booster-CC1-SR-Green
  19. Have you seen this book? I don’t have it myself but there’s a good chance it will have the details you are looking for.
  20. Yes, there are two red lights at the rear and one off-centre headlight going forward. Mine is DCC so the lights can be turned off if required. There is also cab lighting which only comes on when the loco is stationary.
  21. After a wait of three and half years, my Fell loco was finally delivered yesterday. Gave it a test run and all working well.
  22. You would think so but the lever can still twist and fall into the wrong position while assembling it.
  23. The lever guide is very fiddly to put back in place after the airbrush has been dismantled. It sits loosely in a slot and rolls about while you’re trying to tighten the assembly. Very frustrating!
  24. It looks exactly the same as mine apart from the side-feed connection. I got mine as part of an Expo Tools package.
  25. I’ve had several poor quality Humbrol paints recently and wondered if my airbrush was defective. I switched to Phoenix paints and had no problem at all. Postage is expensive but it’s worth it when I know the quality will be consistent.
