  1. i'm looking for a pantograph for my Hornby class 90 part numbers X2817 or X8013 without success so far
  2. i am trying to find details of decal placements for a british rail yellow version i have the railtech decal sheet and apart from a few pictures i have had no success
  3. no it is worthwile upgrading your loco i did this recently flush glazing scale plates etc
  4. i got a steam reverser and tender parts from dave at south eastern finecast
  5. i'm doing the same but using a modified Q class tender - i am stuck at the moment as i can't find any photos or drawings of the cab layout
  6. i get good results with SE flushglaze the trick is to paint inside the window frame with black or dark grey
  7. Dapol took over some of the wrenn body mouldings i've fitted Dapol chassis to these
  8. the resistor is normally attached to the long lead also the LED is polarity sensitive

  11. the sparking might be the traction magnets if they are fitted shorting on the driving wheels or a dirty commutator

  14. the problem is in the rear springs being too long even Hornby recommend shortening the springs by cutting off some of the coils
  15. have a look at the HMRS website they do a GWR wagon sheet in their pressfix range also includes red markings for mica vans
  16. found these 12v motors on e-bay for £1.99 each 3mm shaft geared down to 300rpm

  18. Hornby 01 some parts missing - pick-ups in a tangle but worth the effort for £12
  19. i have started using sharpie pens to detail loco cabs they do silver gold and bronze - so easy old airfix 4F
  20. these may be just what you need - bought for £1.99 each - geared down to 300 rpm max from e-bay go to "geared motors"
  21. i use individual numbers the only way to get the number you need - i based my 4F on a photo i think the yellow stripe makes it less drab
  22. the only varnish i trust is purity seal spray from games workshop about £10.50 a large can gives a semi-matt finish like this
  23. easy - just stick a small piece of foam between the axle and the bottom of the bogie - simple !
