  1. This is all unfortunate. Coopercraft have been part of the scene for so long and it is a pity to fall amongst such hostility. This is a hobby of enthusiasts and it is not good that a rescue mission could not be organised Noel
  2. + The Hazelwood Models Sheaves come to order on size And include detail of spoke nuts. The larger sizes run on 2mm or larger tube as bush inserts with the axles fixed to The pithead structure. The 2mm scale wheels use 1mm rod Into 2mm tube on the structure as bearings. They are modelled on The Writhlington Wheels. Reviewed by Chris Nevard. Noel
  3. All this is unfortunate, I am in the US with a box full of Cooper Craft kits I brought out here with me over 20 years ago. I am clearing down my collection. I would put them on eBay.co.uk, but I think the Royal Mail and HMC&E would kill the situation for UK Collectors. Noel
  4. + The ModelMaster set does not appear to provide for a running pair of the POLLEN C.- enough for only one wagon is present I have a rub-on sheet, with GWR Gray backing as carrier for small print items; for the POLLEN C and with numbers for the 3 sets produced. (per Tourett) I have artwork for the "E" but have not had it printed. Noel
  5. + "Wright Writes" looks like a case for treatment. It has become a whole Forum within a Forum, and could be closed, and restarted with contributors opening indexed threads; to tidy a situation that looks like it has got out of hand. "Little Didcot" is another that could go the same way. Fortunate there is the "Search" function, but easier reads on a topic would be nice. Noel
  6. Phil I think links to other sites are a good idea, if this is to be a research source, as you are proposing. What does Andy Y say? Noel
  7. "Sadly, all my stuff lives in a display case for the time being. I have a small test track but nothing else." {Castle] While I like the big engines, they require a big layout, My collection is the small stuff, for a layout I can afford.. We all hear you. Your posts are full of knowledge we all crave Thank you..
  8. To confirm, the Post 1930 outside wagon pair are supplied with flangless spoked 3D printed wheels. Fabrication of the Girder about a piece of brass sheet could also work as ballast. A light reaming of the turntable mounts will ease movement. Noel
  9. + The Post 1930 Pollen E centre wagons conversion at Didcot shows 3-hole wheels, and that is how the kit is supplied. Noel
  10. + Doesn't the ubiquitous GWR Pollen E hold the record for time in service. - if not, the Frames do ! Regards Noel
  11. + Cambrian also do a pair of MITES. Noel
  12. I can view the David Geen website. What restriction is he under? Why not download the code and rebuild the site? Noel
  13. + Phil, I noted your model sometime ago. The pony wheel needs to be 9mm and the spoke pattern for the 14mm drivers is different, with w/b 21mm. Inserts provided. The kit has detail backhead, with an open through cab: traversing jacks on the footplate The motor is fully contained in the body. Parts are painted before assembly for a crisp model. It is an expensive model to produce using FXD, FUD, WSF for the 3D printed parts with bought-in parts to provide a running model excluding wheels. Noel
  14. I thought it was a Combined Tank Loco with Crane. Noel
  15. + ............. for all those winding South Wales lines?
  16. Castle Sent a copy of your book to a friend in South Africa.for Christmas. They want 2000 Rand "Import & Customs" on it (115.50GBP) On their eBay the book ranges from 300 - 400 Rand. Noel
  17. We were mindful of this with the S&DJR 25a - the flaps are slightly open to give flicker into the cab, and the grate has raking holes in the frames. Noel
  18. Some of these can motors, as I posted above with a gearbox, are used in professional video equipment. I don't think they can all be junk. If Mashima are so good, I am surprised the Customer List, Tooling and Rights of the business is not bought by a competitor. We have seen this happen too often as generations change. N.
  19. + Red Brick building on left I believe was the one and only Max Williams Model Shop. - pity long gone too. Noel
  20. + The length of the Connecting Rod would be the Wheel Base of the Loco.
  21. + Is 500 any longer a "Limited Edition"? Hornby do this all the time, when 1500 was once the standard batch Noel
  22. I think within these pages it was reported that Dave Cleal had died after a long illness. He was certainly a treasure house for white metal castings and all kinds of bits & pieces. Noel
  23. + Re:- "pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap" Wasn't that Tesco's mantra? Noel + Re:- "pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap" Wasn't that Tesco's mantra? Noel
