  1. + Rub-On Transfers are now available for the Pollen C. with option for the 3 sets of running numbers. It is suggested to use Testors #1237 Flat Gray to match the carrier for the small print of the Tare, Tons. and Bolsters Notice. Somehow both HRMS and Modelmasters sheets did not make allowance that the Pollens travelled in pairs. Noel
  2. + Moving from FUD to FXD for some parts has allowed for the addition of a Salter Valve to the top of the 4mm SDJR 25a "Dazzler". Don't see any particular advantage for me in the new material. Noel
  3. + Some of these posts show Hornby is in panic with direct selling, discounts and dumping stock on shops to inflate their Balance Sheet. Production in China has gone sour on them, paying in Dollars, and with the Pound falling against the Dollar since August 2008. They have had 7 years to reverse their policies and failed to make the necessary change in the source of their production. Dapol are in a good position, Hornby could have been too. The house will fall when deposits are required on their China Orders cannot be financed. Noel
  4. Considered it too: the expense is astronomical. - of course Motion parts are too small for the spec'.
  5. As most readers will be aware, I have the GWR Pollen C and all the variations of the GWR Pollen E available. For 20 years I have considered these but always put it off as a modelling project. By accident I have also had the GWR Coral A drawn. With 3D printing, Shapeways, and an excellent CAD draftsman I finally managed to produce them in 4mm. With FXD they also print in 2mm/N-gauge. My current S&DJR layout has taken me away from the GWR; to Sheave Wheels and my first 3D Loco. Noel
  6. What happened with the Writhlington "Return to GWR Radstock" - what Brake's would they have had for delivery to the pit?
  7. Knuckles, I see your range of Coupling Rods. Have you managed to get a design accepted for a OO Crosshead in brass by Shapeways? Noel
  8. + MIB, When will you post a picture of your finished Pollen E? I am working on a Crocodile bogie, but you will have to supply Evergreen Sections to complete it. Noel
  9. + These GWR Pollen C Wagon prints are now available again on eBay [item #301818307987] - currently offered with wheels and NEM couplings for a rolling model; Free P&P. eBay Feedback this week:- "Superb product- for a one off, well worth the money" Noel
  10. + With the introduction of Shapeways FXD, Colliery Sheave Wheels are now available in 2mm Scale for 12 and 15 foot diameter wheels. "3 for the price of 2" for direct orders. Noel
  11. + I put it down to him being psychologically unbalanced. His powers of logic and deduction on the evidence, fly against reason. The terms were Proofs to be supplied before printing, Six months of talking to a blank wall he finally runs counter to the facts. I promise you all, that in no way did I deal fraudulently in the situation, and PayPal did decide in my favour - he did not protest. Noel His parting shot:- "To all of our customers, due to a recent fraud by an American customer, we have reviewed our terms of business and have made the following additions, to try to prevent such fraud in the future: [Highlight added] We will send items to the USA only by means of our International Tracked shipping method, or better. Our full terms of business, including these changes may be viewed at http://www.blackhamtransfers.com/termsofbusiness.html We are sorry to have to make the changes, but once again, the actions of a minority cause problems for everyone else, cheers, Peter"
  12. + The rotary is 100lbs lighter than the 1800 On youtube there are some really interesting builds of rotary engines and what is important in their assembly. - link to the best in many Parts! Heat is the enemy of a Rotary and the conversion did take a larger aluminum radiator. Also problems getting the right fuel pressure with the site of the fuel pumps, and whether to use a primary and a secondary. The wiring took them some sorting out. So far they claim 108mph at about 4500rpm with more to spare; on the Mazda 5-speed box and the B's back-end. Noel
  13. + After exchanges that give every excuses and no deliverables true to form: there is no offer to resend the items. PayPal retrieved my payment. To Peter Blackham, As agreed in e-mails, I paid for the artwork and to receive proofs. I kept asking what progress you were making. What is the difference to put you wise that they had not been received?
  14. + Interesting re-engine of a '67 MGB with a 192HP Mazda EFI RX8 engine. Read about it here.:- http://www.mgexp.com/phorum/read.php?40,2975378 Noel
  15. Ju My transfers are a repeatable item for the 3D Printed Pollen C, Pollen E's, and Coral A, soon also for the SDJR 25a Dazzler.. He is in that classic trap of the small business, where Administration is overtaking Production, as he describes it himself "Chief Cook & Bottle Washer". He produces excellent work and I think needs help with administration and general management to allow him to concentrate on what he obviously enjoys. It would considerably improve and grow his business. Noel
  16. + Finally managed to grab his attention today, after numerous contacts from me.over the months since New Years. Today, 15th May, he now claims he sent the proofs. Noel
  17. + With Shapeways offering of FXD material, the Sheave Wheels are now finally available at 15' diameter for 2mm/ft. N gauge. Noel
  18. + With the introduction of FXD by Shapeways I am finally able to make available the Sheave Wheels for N gauge based on a 15' wheel. Noel
  19. + Thank you Castle for your assistance from the 1:1 prototypes picture survey at Didcot. You have indeed now brought all the variations of the Pollen E's to life as finished models. It has been a long and expensive exercise to get it right, but well worth while on a project over 5 years. The synergy for success, was an expanding library, finding an excellent CAD draftsman, meeting you, and the advent of commercially available 3D printing services. With the introduction of Shapeway's FXD, I am now reviewing my attempt at producing the SDJR 25a "Dazzler" in progress for 3 years! The Sheave Wheels can also now be available at 15' diam for N Gauge. Noel
  20. + He does good work, and I feel intimidated to not annoy a great artist at work. I think he needs an administrative assistant to put a better "Front" on the business. Noel
  21. + For over a year I have been contacting Peter Blackham and paid on a promise of work to be delivered, and now well past. He is not good at responding or giving progress when dates lapse. It is now some time since I last heard from him. Is he still in business? Noel
  22. + Particularly interested in this thread, to populate my Writhlington layout c 1930. Seems I was wrong, with my purchase of the LMS with duckets!
  23. + I believe into the 1930's there were also 10T Brake Vans being replaced by the 20T vans. Somewhere there is a restored 20T in MR livery with duckets I think..
  24. + Google gives "Midnight Blue" as an option with Egyptian Blue and Blueprint. Previous post here:- /topic/82084-prussian-blue/ RGB Codes here:- http://rgb.to/color/14539/prussian-blue - scan down.
  25. I could do with a replacement set too. My Mallard Steam Railmotor needs some TLC.
