  3. https://www.cumbriacrack.com/2018/03/08/class-68-coming-cumbria-thanks-northern-drs/ class 68s coming to the coast trains from Monday well one train at least
  4. Nope its _ between http://www.ebay.com/usr/cour_shau Looking at some of his Feedback it looks like he's done more than us....
  5. I have had the same issue with this same seller got a Paypal chargeback alert yesterday. I have provided Paypal with the Proof of postage / Proof of signed for and Proof of possitive feedback. Hopefully I should be covered by Paypal seller protection by providing this but until then I am left with a negative balance so cannot buy anything with Paypal until that cleared, so it's wait and see what Paypal come back with but I'm not holding my breath....
  6. Not much work on the boards over the last week as I've been concentrating on putting the trains together and swapping a TTS sound chip into a ViTrains class 37 and sorting the lights out so they come on in the direction of Travel. Also been adding some weight to a TTS Class 40 to hopefully stop it bouncing around so much. So here are some images of my last train of 3 this one covering the Green Diesel period of the early 60's the others covering 80's and 90's. The wagons come from Dave Shakespears "Tetley Mills" collection that I purchased last year in the hope that they fit in with the modular style and others can enjoy running their locos with Daves wagons. The Class 40 is the Hornby TTS version and has had the stripe added at below the cant rail, frost grills added, weathered etc... I left it as D232 but added nameplates. On the still to do list are Adding some more scenic bits along the walls to hide the joins. Make a Whistle board. Gather all bits together that I have agreed to bring. Make some kind of stock boxes. Cheers Steve
  7. In the last light of a warm Summer evening 47491 creaks rounds the curve on its way with a train of SPA wagons bound for Tees Yard. Steve
  8. Just plodding on with some scenery across both boards and some finer detail, a few more trees, some signage around the path on Border Curve and a few more gorse bushes added to both boards. Signage added to the path that crosses the line. 47491 rounds Border Curve. An overall shot of how things are progressing on the curve. There are some sheep appeared on the other side of the board and work started on adding bits of scenery to that side also. There are probably 4 different colours of "bush", 3 different ballasts an various styles of grass "tufts" to add variety to the colour. The Heljan class 47 with 6 x SPA Coil wagons will form one of the trains I'm bringing to the meet. The other 2 still been looked at. I'm looking at a train from each of 3 different periods. Steve
  9. There's some more pics over on the Badger's Vale thread along with the inspiration behind the scenery. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/97884-britmod-oo-modular-2015-challenge-3ft-straight-badgers-vale-update-255/?p=1900473 But here's some specifically for the curved board I do a lot of checking via the mobile phone camera to see what the various angles look like. I also found a nice app that blurs the background which helps remove some distractions. 40012 rounds border Curve with some SPA wagons. I have yet to start on this side of the board adding bushes etc.. 09024 negotiates the curve in the morning sunshine. Another couple of views of 40012 renumbered courtesy of Railtec transfers. Cheers Steve

  13. While doing the 37's on the coast I spotted that 6C53 06:30 Crewe to Sellafield was running early and was following 2C41 08:45 Barrow - Carlisle up the coast so bailed off 37409 at Sellafield to grab some shots. 20309+20305 skirt round the coast. 23/05/2015 20309+20305 arrive while 20308 stabled in the siding. Having pulled into the station with their one flask in tow, They then power out pushing the flask. 37606 + 20308 on the left. Reversing up the line into the Sellafield complex. Cheers Steve
  14. 66111 at Carlisle with the Kingmoor to Dalston Tanks 23/05/2015. 66111 still has it's Highland Rail stag on one side only now looking a bit worse for wear. Cheers Steve
  15. There's more 37 photos over on the Cumbrian coast loco hauled http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/94560-loco-hauled-services-to-return-to-cumbrian-coast/page-4 but here's some for here too. 37409 front end detail at Barrow 23/05/2015 37409 amongst the plants at Barrow 23/05/2015 37423 opens up with the 2C34 14:33 Carlisle to Barrow service 23/05/2015 Cheers Steve
  16. Some more from Saturday 23rd May 2015 The weather was great and I would recommend travelling the line to anyone in my opinion it beats the S&C for scenery try one side one way and t'other coming back for two totally different journeys. The highlight for me was leaving Whitehaven southbound when you go through the tunnel especially with the vestibule windows open very reminiscent of blasting out of Glasgow Queen Street with a Class 37 on the front, 37611 sits in a quiet Barrow station I was surprised at the lack of Bashers, I remember the Cambrian coasts during 86 - 87 when the trains were wedged with Bashers. There were more norms got on later on in the day with the trains going into Barrow and Carlisle how they all fit in a 153 I don't know. 37611 again Barrow. As I said previously the first train from Carlisle on a Saturday gives opportunity for some different station shots. General view of Sunny Barrow 185109 + 37611 Across the lawn at Barrow. These have popped up at every station. Remind me of those "Santa stop here!" signs you see in Gardens at Christmas. "Dear DRS please can I have one for me front Garden." Thanks Big Steve-e 37423 approaching Sellafield box. 37423 Token exchange. 37423 powers up to return to Barrow with 2C34 14:33 Carlisle to Barrow. 37609 swinging on the rear back to Barrow. Cheers Steve
  17. 37606 + 20308 at Sellafield stabling point 23/05/2015 Cheers Steve
  18. Here are some images from the Cumbrian coast on Saturday 23rd May 2015 My moves were 2C32 05:15 Carlisle - Barrow in Furness 37611 top 37409 tail from Carlisle to Barrow 2C41 08:45 Barrow in Furness to Carlisle 37409 top 37611 tail from Barrow to Sellafield 2C40 08:42 Carlisle - Barrow in Furness 37423 top 37609 tail from Sellafield to Barrow 2C45 11:38 Barrow in Furness to Carlisle Barrow to Carlisle. 37611 arrived late from Kingmoor with the stock which allowed 66111 with the Kingmoor - Dalston tanks the line to Dalston putting the train around 8 minutes late for the rest of the journey. Passing the other set at Sellafield 37611 left and 37609 right. 37609 with the other set at Sellafield you can see the large Northern sticker as mentioned above these are on every other window then off set on the other side so the first window blank then every other one. I wanted to go to Barrow on this first train as it gave around 45 minutes to take photos etc.. this only happens on a Saturday as the rest of the week the train goes through to Preston. 185109 with a Barrow - Manchester Airport service with the 37's in the bay platform, This used to be a through platform as I have pictures of 31's in the same spot. Another view of 37611 having arrived at Barrow. The Cumbrian Riviera of Barrow in Furness (bet it's the first time it's been called that.) The other end now forming the 08:45 service to Carlisle with 37409 at the front. 37409 ticks over awaiting the off. More to follow. Steve
  19. I did the Nuclear Express' yesterday and took a couple of internal shots that maybe useful to the modeller. Yes the windows have internal bars on. Overhearing a conversation the design is been looked at to stop people sticking their heads out while providing a more user friendly way to get your arm out. They are a bit tight to get your arms through to open the door in the old fashioned way of dropping the window sticking your arm out and twisting the handle it may have been just my chubby arms... I did notice a lady shouting for platform attendants at Workington to assist her as she couldn't manage it. They do have 2 helpers per train now who stand in the vestibules to assist opening the doors for people and the Guard does announce which coaches you need to be in to alight as some of the platforms are short (even though some did look to have long enough platforms they were just overgrown with weeds and had been shortened for the units on the line) The other thing of note is that every other window has one of these large stickers on. Again listening in to the same conversation (I'm a nosy ....) the guy was saying these were also been looked at for a smaller version further up the window as these ones detracted from the view especially for smaller children. The guy did come across as been very proud of the loco hauled stock and the line as a whole which was nice to hear. Cheers Steve
  20. Work started on more scenery as we move upwards. I bought some trees from some Chinese seller on Ebay which are of a twisted wire technique rather that moulded plastic. The come a bit squashed but just tease them out to shape and they look ok. They also need a touch up with some paint but on the whole the are miles ahead of the plastic ones. The Border Curve skyline Some bushes and colour added to the inner side. Oh and the track does not align as I undid the clamps while the end bushes were gluing. It's gone from Telly Tubby land to looking a bit Hobbity now. Cheers Steve
  21. The hills on Border Curve were done at the same time as those on Badger's Vale with the same tecnique of painting brown then covering with PVA glue and sprinkling some scatter on. Just applying neat PVA glue it dries clear so dont worry about the white. Having scattered a mix of grass fibres and some Hornby scatter. The view looking down the line. Hopefully starting to look a bit British or like Telly Tubby land. I have added a footpath crossing to one end of the board to provide some interest and for something to toot/whistle at with your sound locos. The join between Border Crossing and Badger's Vale as the sun sets, what I've tried to do is hide the join with either a fence/hedge or wall on all the boards to hopefully aid flow of the modules. Cheers Steve
  22. Another video from yesterday 20/05/2015 37423 coasts into Dalston station with 37609 on the rear with 2C40 08:42 Carlisle - Barrow 37609 seems more "throaty" even when idling. Cheers Steve
  23. Here's the video that goes with the pics from this morning from Dalston. not much happens and its a bit shaky as I was recording on my phone but some good sounds as it departs. 37609 leading. Cheers Steve
  24. 66111 6S36 Dalston - Grangemouth tanks 20/05/2015 Of note 66111 still carries its Highland stag on one side. 66111 runs round at Dalston 20/05/2015 66111 roof detail 20/05/2015 66111 in the ivy , Dalston 20/05/2015 66111 powering away from Dalston 20/05/2015 Tank detail 20/05/2015 Cheers Steve
