  1. These products ARE available in the UK, I have been selling them for more than 12 months. They are not distributed by Horny.
  2. Chester Model Centre has no connection with Trains4U but I fully agree with them regarding the increase in sales of Airfix and Humbrol products. Over the last few years they have improved their moulding's and are comparable to the other major brands that are well known for their quality.
  3. Martin, avoid the risk of losing money online and shop local. Then again. many people will use their local model shop to see and examine a new product then go away and order it cheaper online. These same customers are the usually the first and loudest to complain when a local model shop then closes down. Yes, I have a vested interest as the owner of a model shop but any model shop owner will tell you the same. My opinion for what it is worth is that the Hornby brand including Airfix, Humbrol, Corgi and Scalextric will survive but with heavy restructuring. For those contempalting the purchase of Hornby just remember you buy the debts as well as the assets before you start to turn the business around.
  4. If this is a promotional model for Drax why is it available to buy from a retailer? Also, if it is due within the next week I would have expected a picture of the finished hopper.
  5. Hi Dave, unfortunately we don't get as much second hand stock as we did when we were at Penketh and doing the shows most weekend. I have recently taken on extra staff and in the new year the cabinets and shelves will be more themed to manufacturers/second hand etc. Work will start on improving the webpage both visually and together with an EPOS system which will improve our listings. Regards, Paul
  6. Frank Sorry you hadn't heard about our move. We moved early in the year with coverage in most of the magazines. A sign was in in the window for over 4 months and the property has been turned into a domestic property hence the sign being removed. Hope to see you in the new Chester shop. 7. Chester Model Centre carries the full range of Evergreen and related styrene products. It's not just railways, its kits, Tv-related, Radio controlled models, Scalextric, Corgi, Warhammer etc etc. Come along and see what is probably the largest stocked model shop in the North West. Open 7 days a week.
  8. Opening Times for the Chester shop are Monday - Saturday 10:00am - 17:30pm, Sunday 10:30am - 16:30pm Hope this helps.
  9. Hi Alex, you will be pleased to know we have no connection whatsover with Modelzone. Currently we have Penketh Model Rail Centre in Warrington (which will remain open) ut Chester wil give the opportunity to extend our range of products in much larger premises.
  10. Good news for Chester, North Wales and the North West. Chester Model Centre has opened it's doors this weekend in the former Modelzone premises in Bridge Street, Chester, CH1 NW1. This new venture comes from the owner of long established Penketh Model Rail Centre and will give the opportunity to stock the larger gauges and expand their current range of OO and N Gauge which despite the extension that was added at Penketh several years ago, they have simply outgrown yet again. It will also allow their range of GC Weathering locomotives and rolling stock to be fully displayed. In addition to model railways new ranges of Die-Cast, Wm Britain's, Corgi, Scalextric, Tamiya, Revell, Airfix, Plastic Soldier, Napoleonic and War Hammer making it a complete one-stop traditional model shop. A full range of Railway, Bus, Transport and Military books will also be featured mainly from BOOK LAW.
