  1. What a fantastic performance by the 'Millers'! 1-1 against Charlton - ok Charlton scored all the goals, but hey, the underdog's fans got something to cheer and they have earned a replay at home. (Realistically, probably the best result they could have hoped for.) Well done lads. Kev.
  2. Come on the "paper lads". https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67279192 Let's hope you achieve more than a few paper cuts! Kev.
  3. For all those moaning about the lack of jokes here.... Kev.
  4. ..It took me a moment, but I got there! Kev.
  5. This Whole episode has me fuming. ...and was completely unnecessary if only the policy originator had an once a micro-gram of common sense. (Yes I know, that’s why this got as far as it did – someone in power who is demonstrably detached from reality.) What would have been the next saving? The removal of Disabled Ramps?! After all, hardly anyone (percentage wise of the population) uses them! Shakes head in disbelief again... ...and everyone here should try walking in another’s shoes before spouting how good something is, citing examples, of how you are competent/unaffected/better off. The partially sighted, physically disabled, new customers passengers, dyslexic, incapable, occasional users, tourists, plus lots and lots of other groups – especially (but not least) the terminally bewildered (no shortage of them!) – all NEED human interaction. (I count myself in at least 3 of the above categories, especially the last one!) Another example… https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/disability-67239870 ...but no worries, the technology widely available – and most importantly – cheap to implement (little up front costs/investment/maintenance). Kev. (I do apologies for being very grumpy this morning, and please don’t take this personally – it’s just me getting my morning rant off my chest.)
  6. Another 22Gbyte "update" to Fortnite, today, as a new chapter starts. ...and the "map" has gone all retro to when I first started playing - and was completely rubbish! I can't wait to start playing - and putting all my highly honed killing skills into action! Kev. (I've had one game and went straight to my favourite location - "Haunted Hills".)
  7. Trains designed to do the job, with 30% over-engineering. Instead of... Trains designed to do the job plus lots and lots of extras bits, with 3% over-engineering. Kev.
  8. No, Sutton Hoo as confirmed by Rob above. (I can't find it now.) Kev.
  9. I luv the C2126 shot - it so reminds me of a layout, that was on here ages ago. I think it was called "Sutton Hoo" or similar. Kev.
  10. I was in Amsterdam, a couple of months ago, and I did all my travel by Tram, Train and Taxi. I could not buy tickets unless face-to-face. When faced with machine (intelligence!!) problems - or tiny screens - I resort to taxis. Next week I am in Berlin - I use day tickets from the m/c on the platform (Big screen). The week after I am in Teltow - south of Berlin, so day tickets again. Two weeks after that, Delft - Tram tickets bought in the Hotel reception. Kev. Who can't see very well and (nearly) everything on a phone is "out of sight"!
  11. That's quite a loco selection there! (Winces a bit.) I can see the attraction - just plonk and play, but I wouldn't discount the Peco range too quick. Some (a lot?) is older than the locos you quote. Great if any kids are going to have a "hands on" approach to things (running, building shelters or other station "furniture.) Just make sure that any paper/card isn't allowed to fade/curl up and I think you could be onto something here - save loads too. Good luck, Kev.
  12. You just need to cut a zillion rectangles, in uniform rows along the sides, and hey presto you now have a modern cruise ship! Kev.
  13. GPS only works with a "super accurate" time signal, which happily, is imbedded in the GPS signals themselves. Of course, other time signals are available everywhere - namely, the internet. Kev.
  14. How the other >99 % live! Kev.
  15. I thought it was a duck laying an egg. Kev.
  16. Reminds me of those steam powered launches on aircraft carriers! Kev.
  17. The picture (to me) doesn't show enough detail - unless you are in the know! Kev.
  18. I am happy to report that I have no idea what my engine size/power is (much to my neighbours disbelief) but I do know that its' "consumption" is £60/Month! Kev.

    On Cats

At "application time" I show my pet/master* the offending article and wait for it to calm down**. When it's asleep/settled, (and really can't be ar$ed), I apply it in three drops down the neck - as deep into the fur as possible. He's not happy, but this is now much easier, and just prefers to get it over with***. Kev. *delete as applicable... **This used to take a day or so - is now down to 20 minutes! ***Sometimes going into full pi$$ed wet through routine by running around rubbing itself on as many textile surfaces possible. Edit, to add the word "through".
