  1. Who bought the assets of Modelzone and could they - whoever that is and in theory at least release one? Jim
  2. I have experienced nothing but great service from Hattons but that is ridiculous. Why couldn’t they’ve posted it in an enevelope or even a small flat cardboard packet if there was risk of damage from a stamp franking machine?
  3. Great, thanks Jeff - well that’s saved me a few bob! Jim
  4. What time period are these earlier Freightliners good for?
  5. Hi Peter, as I have said before a superb model. Having only experienced the station after closure when it was a hardware store it is interesting to see some how it would’ve looked. I had forgotten about that walkway on the bridge. It would be interesting to see the rest of the layout... Jim

    Class 142

Original Skipper, Provincial and GMPTE orange please.
  7. Does anyone know which type ran over the Woodhead. Was it the Oxygen or Nitrogen versions? Cheers, Jim
  8. Indeed Levenshulme South along with other stations on the ‘Fallowfield Loop’ or Manchester Central Railway to give it its correct name had their canopies cut back to allow for the extension of 1500V DC overhead which never came.
  9. Hi, does anyone know whether the Kevin Robertson ‘An Illustrated Journey’ book contained in the collectors edition contains entirely new material or does this just contain the same information as in the previous three books? Jim
  10. Will follow with interest. I liked your Woodhead Electrics layout. What did you do with all the stock?! Cheers, Jim
  11. Great, thanks Rivercider - much appreciated. Cheers, Jim
  12. Some further information here. Says Spring 76 or even 77 http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/84864-wcml-class-50s/page-1
  13. Thanks guys, though when did the last ones move and what were their final duties in the North West of England?
  14. When did the class move away to the WR (I have invariably read 1975/76), where were they allocated and what were their last workings in the North West? Jim
  15. Hi Peter, as been a while since I ‘popped in’ here. Have been enjoying the recent photographs and your new MkI carriage rake. Was that the same set which ran up to Manchester? I really do need to get my finger out lol. Jim

    Class 142

Good suggestions. It would be good to allow interchangeable destinations ie those on a Skipper could be for the south or north west. I would be happy with Manchester, Sheffield & Liverpool.

    Class 142

Original GMPTE orange / brown Original Provincial blue Skipper chocolate / cream
  18. Still think an up to date Class 155 is a no-brainer. Jim
  19. Have always thought this would make a good subject. Shame the ELR ski-jump didn't come along until later as that would make an ideal scenic break. Alternatively and if you had more space the tunnel under Manchester Road would also make a good break.
  20. Thanks for the response guys - much appreciated, Jim
  21. Would have these operated over the Woodhead route?
  22. Hi 18B, will Wath be covered (including the Electric depot) and will this be in the Sheffield Part 4 edition? Cheers, Jim
  23. No, the steam shed was used instead. Again it’s covered in the magazine in here if you don’t already have a copy! http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/133401-part-two-of-on-shed-diesel-depot-survey/page-1
  24. A bit of a delayed response, it is covered in the magazine here however it was never built and was for a 2 Road shed similar to the one that was built at Heaton Mersey: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/133401-part-two-of-on-shed-diesel-depot-survey/page-1
