Thank you for all your kind replies, yes it works okay on DC but then I found two wires have come off the decoder but I don't know where to attach them.

Basically it seems that the motor isn't getting power to the motor.

It definitely takes 100 ohm as the one I exchanged was.

Hi all I have an ESU 3.5 sound decoder installed, it worked fine but very quiet so I've installed a base reflex 100 ohm speaker,all sounds sound fantastic now but the only problem is the locomotive doesn't run at all. I can't see any loose wires has anybody any idea what could be wrong.
