  1. Hi thanks for the tip. I have some bearings from parkside Dundas and did wonder if it would wear less if I added them. Im going to start an EM layout soon, just a small shunting layout. Then I can test RTR wheels compared to, say: Romford or similar. Using the same technique, I have done another OBA and a VGA van. Class 66 will be next too, but using Ultrascale conversion pack. Jack
  2. Having a stab at EM 18.2mm. Ive converted a Bachmann OBA. With those awful bogie/single axle arrangements. Chopped off the centre, glued the axle boxes below the leaf springs and added the wheels once they were pulled out, using a pair of pliers. As shown below... Once the glue had dried, they can be tested. Also, this process lowers the 'ride height' as they are a little high. Whilst the wheels are removed they can be weathered. Jack

  8. Thanks Al. Thats very kind! Was a bit of a running joke saying it looks like snow! But as you say the snow has "melted" now. I'll keep popping in for updates on Bakewell after all im partial to some Peak District steam. Lovely stuff Cheers Jack

  12. Alex, we do as Cornwall is so small especially in the world of model railways. Sounds good, mark told me about Diddington so I had to have a look. Glad I did now as its lovely.   16. Hi Alex. Mark mentioned your layout so I had to come over and have a look! Its Ansum! Lovely use of static grass and great scenics. As others have said, very impressive. Perticulary the bridge photo and the DMU crossing over it. All the best Jack

  18. Theres Hobby craft in Truro. The Range also Truro. No connection but KMRC in Camborne is a really nice shop. Im also near the mainline. Ex-arriva 57 on beds tonight I think. But check "railways of Cornwall" section Cheers Jack
