Elizabeth Line - a smoooooth ride...
-
I took an impromptu trip last week as I had a couple of hours to kill in London. Went from Farringdon to Ealing Broadway and then back to Paddington for a walk to Euston.
Quite impressed by it all, but it's just a rapid transit system, so underground on steroids. I imagine for the people that use it daily it's great though, no sooner has one train left another one is arriving.

Why is Google complete rubbish at finding flickr pictures? (Or maybe flickr has a default 'no-follow' robots rule?)

That's odd. I used Google to identify a couple of fairly obscure images (of a bridge in France) yesterday and it found the source almost immediately. However, it's possible that either Google is favouring its own competing photo sharing/storage site.
Always remember that if a commerical service gives you something for free then you're the product not the customer.

Those pictures of kids being rescued from the rubble of the earthquake are heartbreaking.

'Blue Pullman' currently on Talkingpics TV
-
The one about the Black Arrows - 111 Sqn aerobatic team with black painted Hawker Hunters - was repeated after only three weeks. The only detailed 'Talking Pictures' schedules so far available go up to 12 December. However this was listed in the Radio Times as 'Blue Pullman' so if it will be repeated shortly it looks as if it could be found that way if you're prepared to wade through the RT up until 31 December - assuming that it will be repeated before then of course?

Always a bit worrying when a supplier's Mastermind specialist subject is avoiding the question.

The trouble was due to the large lap and increased travel of valve. It had come about through the increased throw and the angularity of the quadrant link. In the Walschaert gear the more lap obtained, the more work the combining lever had to do, and only a small percentage of the work was taken by the quadrant. In that particular case the angularity of the link was rather excessive, and it would be an advantage to decrease the angularity of the link and increase the angularity of the radius r...

HM customs charge of £18 on a few kits from Canada - daylight robbery!

Brexit is unlikely to make any difference as toys and models are duty free or Zero rated under WTO Rules or a free trade agreement with Canada.
At least HM Customs don't appear to charge an Entry Fee in addition to any duty or purchase tax liable at the time of import.
New Zealand Customs Service charge a flat rate Entry Fee of $45.80 + purchase tax on imports of $400 (approx £217) or more.
A lot of the increased focus by Customs on personal imp...
