I have a Loksound V5 mini sound decoder, can I add an ordinary capacitor fo the stay alive as the mini powerpack I bought wont't fit the loco. The decoder has three wires red-black-white which go to the matching wires on the powerpack. If I can wire in an oridinary two wire capacitor which colour wire would I use. I am fitting these hopefully into a DJH kit which doesn't have much room inside due to the tthickness of the whitemetal. Thanks.

I am sure many of you will know that Mike Radford is now in a Care Homes due to his dementure. His family and friends are going through his models etc and no doubt at some time, some may appear on Ebay or auction house. A box was found with my name on it as Mike was building some early Pullman coaches for me, hence they contacted me about them. Sadly they are far from completed, so am trying to find missing parts for them starting with the bogies. Does anybody know who might have done the etched overlays and white metal parts for the 8' American type bogies used on the Pullman stock. I also need the right Queen Posts, these were two different sizes and some broken. I expect I can find suitabe chairs have been produced by 3D printing. Any help finding suitable sources would be very welcome, it would be a shame if these can't be salvaged. Thanks, Sue Rose.

Connecting Digitrax D150 to UR29 radio tranceiver problems
suerose replied to suerose's topic in DCC Help & Questions
Thanks MIke, According to the flashing lights on the UR29 I am using radio, but I would try turning of the IR, but have no idea how to or if it is possible. Regards, Sue -
Good afternoon. I have a Digitrax D150 command station and have added a UR29 radio tranceiver/IR reciever and use a DT402D handset. I have managed to get it to work on IR and Radio within the confines of my shed 18' x 12' for my OO gauge layout. However I had hoped that the same system would run my outdoor O gauge layout as well. The outdoor layout will run if I stand in my shed, but I can't actually see the outdoor railway from there. As soon as I walk outside the confines of the shed, neither indoor or outdoor will work. The UR29 is supossed to have a range of 300ft, I only need 60 ft. Can anybody please advise me what I can do to resolve this problem. Thanks Sue Rose in Derbyshire

I do hope you are successful, we would have all preferred to get the kits/rtr as many of the items were unique and the money will not buy replacements.

The family are now in a position to sort out financial affairs. I have had a full refund. You are unlikely to receive orders, but would suggest that you maybe able to get your money refunded. I would suggest a letter by recorded delivery to Mike which will be then picked up by his family. Include a telephone number so you can be contacted. It is really sad.

I intend to wait till the end of the month as he said he was going in hospital but this will the umpteenth time he has said it. Will telephone with the same ultimatum as he claimed unable to read the last letter I wrote which was done on the computer not handwritten. Then a you say down to the small claim court. I hope this will be resolved, but am seriously doubting that I will ever see anything, and I at £1250 it was not a small order. Thanks, Sue

I hope the person who waited 18 months have by now received their items, but sad to say things are now worse and I have been waiting 3 1/2 years for mine, fully paid for. He keep promising to send. Not sure what to do next. Does anybody live close to Barnet who can try to get them from him, we live in Derbyshire. Sent him a letter two weeks ago by recorded delivery, which was signed for by a Radford. Phoned last night and he asked me to repeat the information as could not read the letter. His health is poor I accept, he says he has nobody to help him. In these circumstances what recourse do we have in law.

So far not tooooo bad, but could not see how to fit the etched crosshead to the piston rod. I have nowI found a old pair of nickel silver crossheads complete with piston rods, so drilled out the cylinders to fit. Seems to work and certainly looks better. There is supposed to be a slide bar support bracket, but still have not found any etch on the fret which looks remotely like one, so will make one of those up for myself. Will follow your blog with interest as it will look a really nice model when completed, and I think very few will actually exist.

Hi I am building the X2 version, have you started on the cylinder and cross head yet? regards, Sue

Kitbuilt - SECR L class from the DJH kit
suerose replied to pete_mcfarlane's topic in RMweb/BRM 'build a loco' Challenge
Hi Following this with interest as just trying to sort my on L class out started year ago. Can you tell me which motor you actually used in the end as mine was the old DS10 which has to be changed. I need to order a new motor, so if it works for you I can send for the same one. Regards, Sue
