  1. https://www.theworks.co.uk/p/new-non-fiction-books/british-rail-scene-remembered/9780750985758 Noticed this in the works earlier. Good book, very good price. Already got it though having paid full price!
  2. Have turned a loco on there a few times now. It doesn’t half get going once you manage to get it going! Stopping it in the right place really is an art, you and the guy on the opposite side trying to do the same thing at the same time but not seeing each other.
  3. What’s the trick with it? Only run my original batch version once or twice due to layout building. Bottomed out on the slightest level change.
  4. There was a connection with Llangollen Railway somehow. A model of 7754 is still at Berwyn on display. There was also a model of 80072 in the groups sales coach, but it has been passed on now.
  5. Llangollen railway do an all day freight course that involves 2 or 3 round trips, with shunting wagons in / out of the train at Carrog in between runs. I think they have 6 participants for the day, each having a go driving / firing / signalling / guarding and as shunted on the ground. http://llangollen-railway.co.uk/drivers-experience/ Llangollen railway do an all day freight course that involves 2 or 3 round trips, with shunting wagons in / out of the train at Carrog in between runs. 6. A bit late as its now over, but i reckon Rails of Sheffield had a good deal on their stand. The 3 Bachmann birdcages available as a bundle for for £129. I got the Crimson ones. Didn't think much of the Bachmann returns either. The only item i looked at before walking away was the Stanier Mogul was £114. Quite a lot for a returned item when there were other retailers at the show selling brand new ones for £119 or so. I also picked up a DJM class 71 from the DJM stand. Returned item with a cab light not working in one end at a bargain price of £65. He was also selling off 02's and beatties at £60. All were labeled with their faults.
  7. If you have a look at Alan's page, he's 3D scanned my collection of loco lamps, had a play around and managed to print them with a slot that will fit etched lamp brackets. You can change them around to your hearts content then. http://www.modelu3d.co.uk
  8. Your probably right, but I'm a driver on a preserved railway. For anyone modelling that era I'm perfect
  9. I had approached Cambridge Custom Transfers a couple of years back about doing these transfers. He was interested in doing them, but required good detail shots of each piece of writing on the wagons, which i never managed to get hold of. If anyone has any good detail shots then it could be possible if CCT is still interested.
  10. Wonder if Hattons would be temped to do a variation that would have run no more than 5 miles from their shop! John Summers & sons hoppers.
  11. I've built the Iornside kit out of the ARC range, and cutting the material was like putting a hot knife in butter. Exactly the same as working with Deansidings range of kits and many others.
