  1. I see the WSR chaps stop the table and shift it back then forward a couple of times before they get the locking bar in, might be worth modelling?

Have turned a loco on there a few times now. It doesn’t half get going once you manage to get it going! Stopping it in the right place really is an art, you and the guy on the opposite side trying to do the same thing at the same time but not seeing each other.

  2. Llangollen railway do an all day freight course that involves 2 or 3 round trips, with shunting wagons in / out of the train at Carrog in between runs. I think they have 6 participants for the day, each having a go driving / firing / signalling / guarding and as shunted on the ground.

  3. Same here no reply from seller

    Bargain news

Been to the Warley show today and Modelrail magazine are selling there stock off at good prices.

Bachmann stand seconds seemed over priced for me

A bit late as its now over, but i reckon Rails of Sheffield had a good deal on their stand. The 3 Bachmann birdcages available as a bundle for for £129. I got the Crimson ones.

Didn't think much of the Bachmann returns either. The only item i looked at before walking away was the Stanier Mogul was £114. Quite a lot for a returned item when there were other retailers at the show selling brand new ones for £119 or so.

I also picked up a DJM class 71 from the DJM stand. Returned item with a cab light not working in one end at a bargain price of £65. He was also selling off 02's and beatties at £60. All were labeled with their faults.

  4. .....might be worth advertising on here for other like minded souls to join you once the model is available and then approaching a decal producer with a reasonable sized order.

I had approached Cambridge Custom Transfers a couple of years back about doing these transfers. He was interested in doing them, but required good detail shots of each piece of writing on the wagons, which i never managed to get hold of. If anyone has any good detail shots then it could be possible if CCT is still interested.

  5. Depends on the filler, some resins use glass. The glass makes the material stiffer, less prone to distortion. If so then you need tungsten carbide cutting tools.

It's disappointing that ARC isn't more forthcoming, all that is needed is an assurance re material and a source for the drawings.

    Regards

I've built the Iornside kit out of the ARC range, and cutting the material was like putting a hot knife in butter. Exactly the same as working with Deansidings range of kits and many others.
