The original liveried photos on the older buses certainly bring back memories for me, as I either saw them or travelled on them. The ex Oxford Regent V must have been sold to Provincial and I certainly remember travelling on that one to school when I lived in Oxford. Keep them coming.

A friend of mine sells display cases, and often he sells very few on the day of any show he attends, BUT over the next few weeks he gets a lot of orders from people who went to the show and measured up when they got home. So sales on the day might be slow the results of attending the show are felt for a period after,

Some of the fleet will be in France, a lot of it at Temple Mills with two or three at St Pancras.
As long as they can get trains to Stratford they would be ok.
The problem will be getting passengers through customs, it’s all mothballed at best away from St Pancras.
You cannot ignore customs and immigration rules otherwise all you’d need to do to get in is have someone sabotage something near St Pancras to make it a free for all which would be a terrorist risk
Temple Mills and Stratford are NORTH of the Thames so therefore they would not be able to provide any trains to Ebbsfleet as that is SOUTH of the river and the affected tunnel

How long before travel insurers refuse to cover Eurostar journeys? The service is now becoming synonymous with unreliability.
With a problem in the tunnel under the Thames, Eurostar services should be able to start from Ebbsfleet or Ashford instead, with travellers using the alternative rail routes to/from London.
No resilience in the current set up at all.
How would they get the stock to Ebbsfleet/Ashford? You would have to rely on incoming trains and the service would be halved at best

"That reminds me.....time to dump the credit card for another one that'll send monthly statements thru' the post; the current one has just swapped to on-line only...despite promises otherwise. They've had their chance."
Know how you feel Bear, email saying we had missed a payment, checked on line and yes we had. Paid it but then did some checking we hadn`t received a statement. The next day I phoned them and queried why we had not had a statement [ allowing for the poor RM deliveries]
The very helpful call center operator said that we had opted in for on line statements. OH no we haven`t says I OH he say`s and a few clicks later we are back on paper statements. Also I got all the interest for the "late payment" refunded. Like Bear says one more c++k up and they are out.

That is out of order, if there is photographic evidence it should have been sent with the ticket?
I thought it was law that you had the right to see the photographic evidence. A mate of mine did when his car was alleged to have been have been in the London Congestion zone when it was sat on his drive. The car had cloned plates if I remember correctly.

Surely the answer is to go back to basics and decide whether or not they are retail company or manufacturer . They can`t be both. Bachmann although they have a shop in Barwell/Hinkley do not sell directly to the public as a rule. Hornby ought to take a long hard look at them selves and realize that continual retooling does not work, and people want new models, not just reissues. A certain persons " retirement" has probably helped but it needs somebody with a knowledge of the the hobby, and not one who is figures orientated .

Do you have The Nationwide Building Society on Fraggle Rock? If so I would go to them. I have banked with them for more than thirty years and their policy is NOT to close branches.
They closed our local branch in Kingswood Bristol earlier this year

After two of the Grammar Schools in Oxford merged we had two dining halls. One served what can only be described as " traditional " school diners and the other was to a good standard. We alternated between the two every other term.

In light of the recently announced strike action on Avanti main line services between London and Scotland we have made arrangements for any exhibitors affected by the Sunday 2nd July strike to stay over Sunday eve and return Monday am.
Frankly this is an expense too far for events like us which will affect our finances going forwards and certainly won't get the rail workers striking any sympathy from those affected.
Fortunately all local and cross country rail services remain unaffected at this time so visitors travelling to Buxton on the sat or sun should be ok.
We hope those visitors coming from further afield that have booked train tickets and accommodation over the weekend can still attend and this doesn't detract from or greatly increase the cost of their visit to the town or our show.
Safe journeys to you all
Just found this on the web
Strike action scheduled for Avanti West Coast services on Sunday 2nd July 2023 has been cancelled. As a result, Avanti West Coast will run their planned timetable on this date. on the https://www.thetrainline.com/trains/great-britain/industrial-action site

Ritzer`s did relocate a few years ago, but from what I have heard they do not do as much railway as they used to . There are two other shops in Nurembrg Eisenbahn Dorfler Färberstraße 34/36, 90402 Nürnberg, Germany and Inh. G. Keller Helmut Sigmund Modellbahnen Schweiggerstraße 5, 90478 Nürnberg, Germany. The second shop is very cramped and not very well laid out but may have older stock available. Dorflers is a very good shop with both new and second hand.

Of course, we could accept that these are professionals that have a lot of experience in railway operations and design and specification and have all the immediate information in front of them...rather than just assuming they are wrong on a model railway forum...

I went last year and really enjoyed it. The chance to see both the live narrow gauge steam and the layouts certainly made it a different experience, and all at a reasonable cost. Couldn`t make this year but will keep an eye open for future events.

I agree with DaveF with his views on river cruises. All the time moored up is connected with visits to towns with a walking tour in the morning which is "free" and the optional expensive excursions in the afternoon . We went with Viking and can`t fault their attention to detail and general high standards but it does seem that you are on the go all the time
