  1. Many thanks for the film clip, Michael-but.......I thought "Titfield" was Monkton Combe near Bath, not "Welsh Borders"!!!
  2. Hoping that "Beaminster Road/Junction" is not to be abandoned, may we ask, Tim, if you will reconsider and continue this inspirational thread?
  3. Many thanks for your thoughts-sound advice indeed. Best wishes.
  4. I have a blue weathered 31270 which seems fine at the moment.Sorry to ask what may be a daft question but is it's collapse inevitable? As far as we know,is the whole batch with that number doomed? Very many thanks for any thoughts. Tim.
  5. Try listening to a teenager (and sometimes older) saying "no" and you will understand exactly what is meant!
  6. Thanks for the continuing posts Tim,I find this whole thread inspirational. Keep 'em coming!
  7. One further bit of advice(which I ignored and lost a considerable sum of money) is to set your price at which you will buy and more importantly when to sell and STICK TO IT!It is very tempting when selling to hope for just that wee bit more but.........
  8. Dear friends, much as I dislike posting anything which could be construed as a moan, this I have to share(and the thread title does say "Grumpies"!) A new transport company just set up outside the village declares on its sign "Innovative supply chain solutions" Lord save us all. Almost as bad- a school minibus branded "We specialise in Education"
  9. Well and truly beaten to it!From the excellent S'oton exhibition on Saturday was purchased Vols 1 & 2 of "The Forest of Dean Branch" and further supplies of pipework and other accessories from Knightwing to gee up my GWR twig inspired by Whimsey.Look forward to some more photies s'ose I can crib your pipe runs!(Vol 2 of the above gives some super photies of the bitumen unloading facilities giving locations of tanks, heaters etc but no detail of pipe runs or exactly how the tanks were heated before discharge.)
  10. Tried "light tarmac"- totally the wrong colour, far far too coarse and went on very patchily.Never again.Funny init, but "Greenscene" is supposed to be scenic materials par excellence if many magazine articles are to be believed?
  11. How very pleasant to be referred to as a "gentleman"!!Sorry to have not had a word at the show but we were in a bit of a rush- good to see "Calshot" and was very grateful for your post mentioning the show-it didn't appear to be well publicised (or at all).Yes,agreed good little show and I was very grateful to the ever helpful Ron Lines for supplying two odd coach roofs in a "bargain pack" with which I may now start to update two Hornby clerestories.Oh joy! Very best wishes, Tim.
  12. Very many thanks indeed, mm ,for your prompt and most helpful reply.I'll be having a go very soon!Best wishes and thanks again, Tim.
  13. Excellent layout, well done! Is it possible that you could give details of the substitute coupling fitted to the class 25? Would like to try something similar myself. Many thanks, Tim.
  14. I'd like to wish Andy and the team, and all fellow RM addicts a very healthy New Year.A "happy" one is mainly up to us!!! All the best, Tim.
