  1. The brake arrangements, the roof ribs, and if I recall correctly, the curvature of the ends is also different between the two diagrams
  2. I should clarify that both of these models have been renumbered and the overhead warning flashes changed compared to the standard products. The eagle-eyed will also notice the sandboxes on 24035 have been swapped to the later Class 25 style (courtesy of the excellent customer service Phil provides) Chris
  3. Here is a link to a youtube video which I found and followed. The relevant bit is from about 7mins in. In my case I also removed the brake yokes (I plan to reinstate later on) Chris
  4. I used Branchlines wheels to convert mine to P4. Worked extremely well with the axles fitting perfectly. With all metal wheels with an insulating bush on one side, I am still able to use the lights, having bent down the appropriate prong that transfers the power from each bogie (effectively picking up from one side of each bogie. I picked this approach up from a video on Youtube. Chris Chris
  5. With all this concern about sound fitted models not being available, how come there is a picture on the web of a green SLW Class 25 on Kentside, where the caption refers to the sound quality… https://www.emgauge70s.co.uk/model_omwb213.html Chris
  6. My order numbers span a range of more than 3000, so I think there are quite a lot…
  7. I have no idea on the numbers that have been produced, but I did notice that the ones I have ordered have 5 digit order numbers, which might provide an indication of the quantities SLW are dealing with.
  8. Hi Folks I was chatting to Phil Sutton last night on other matters and I asked him how it was going with the Class 25s….this is what he told me : “They are only sending out the first two models (D7599 in Green and 25324 in Blue) at this stage. People only need to contact them directly if they have changed delivery address or telephone number/e-mail. They will get in touch with customers if they need anything else, usually to update payment card details. Bear in mind SLW is only a small company open four days a week (Tuesday to Friday) and are working through a massive number of orders. It will take a good few weeks to get through them all, so some patience will be needed. Payment having been taken indicates things are progressing and Royal Mail will send a tracking info e-mail when out for delivery (tracked and signed for). Ringing ad hoc will only slow things down.” I hope that helps set everyone’s mind rest. I also have models on order so patience is needed. From what I saw of the pre-production models whilst operating Mostyn at the Spalding show last year, they will be worth the wait regards, Chris
  9. The most important point when looking to remove the body is to attach it to the plinth using the screws. Then ease the clips just inboard of the rear wheelsets (it helps to insert small strips of plasticard). The body should then be able to be carefully pulled away. Chris
  10. Transfers from Railtec Models now available http://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=11227 A happy customer Chris
  11. Also looking forward to heading over the Pennines with West End. In my case I can guarantee a Class 24 and a Class 25/3 😀
  12. I was also hoping for 37001 to ship next week, so I could weather, and fit my P4 wheelsets etc before an outing at an exhibition mid November. At the moment its looking like I’m not going to have the opportunity to give it a run out in public. Chris
  13. Excellent news Fran. I sort of knew they must be in the pipeline, but nice to have it confirmed Chris
  14. With first deliveries at the end of Q3 (fingers crossed), any news of EM and P4 wheelsets for pre-order? Would be great to get them delivered at the same time as my order, hopefully in time to get the model on my layout for an exhibition in November. Chris
  15. I can’t comment for EM, but thus far my quick conversion to P4 involved removing the brakes and yokes completely at the present. At some point I will look at replacing them. As the brake linkage along the centreline has also been removed along with the tension locks, I’ve rotated the bogies so that there is a complete end bolster facing each end of the vehicle. I’ve added screw couplings (Masokits) and fitted the supplied vacuum pipes as well regards, Chris
  16. Thanks for your response. I redid the factory reset, then deleted the entry in JMRI. Identifying the decoder again and creating a new file then seemed to get everything working again, and I was able to adjust the volume without any problems. Not quite sure what I did wrong in the first place, but glad its now working. Chris
  17. Hi I have acquired a Bachmann 108 DMU with an ESU Loksound 5 decoder. When I tried to adjust the master volume with JMRI, the sounds and lights stopped working, except now when bringing the DMU to a stop on the layout there is the squeal of the brakes. No idea what I have done. I have tried a factory reset (CV8 = 8) but to no avail. Any thoughts on how to start fixing things? regards, Chris
  18. Thought this might be worth of some exploration….. https://www.telegraphpoleappreciationsociety.org
  19. Masokits supply components for telegraph poles - see https://traders.scalefour.org/masokits/. Item 8.07 I have not used them, so can’t comment on their usefulness for your application. However, based on other items I have used such as the screw couplings, they will excellent though fiddly to put together. Chris
  20. Ordered Sunday, delivered Tuesday. Amazing service and looks fantastic. Just need to figure out conversion to P4 including replacing the brakes and yokes. Chris
  21. Just notepads that Phil was handing out occasionally. There were also some postcard sized photos as well as publicity material. Chris
