  3. I couldn't agree more. Hi-Viz vests are a good idea as there will be moving vehicles in the hall on the Friday. As much as I look like a right plonker wearing one (don't say it Phil or Andy!), I do see (and agree with) the reasoning behind it! Safety footwear won't be needed at all. It's a common sense approach really...

  5. Hi all, It’s with deep regret that we will be closing RMweb Buy & Sell on Friday, March 3rd at 12pm. Our aim was to create a thriving community of railway modellers looking to do, as the name suggests, ‘buy and sell’. Whilst visitor numbers and sales were good, our focus at present is with BRM, BRM TV, RMweb, our four new magazines and three railway modelling exhibitions. We felt it was only right to close Buy & Sell as we couldn’t give it the focus it needed and deserved to be a success. We are already looking at other ways for the RMweb community to buy & sell products. Andy York will be instrumental in ensuring that we make the right decision for the community. We will announce more in the future. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Buy & Sell Steve Cole Publisher
  6. Maybe you should apply for the vacant BRM editor position?
  7. If sales of this steam version are good and we deem it a good use of our time (with regards to sales revenue generated Vs man hours to produce), we'll do further versions. If sales are low and we feel it's not the best use of our time, we won't produce further versions. I think it's fair to say that a Steam Special will be the most popular, and whilst we can't compare it with a diesel/electric Special like-for-like, it will give us a decent indication as to whether there's a demand for a Video Special dedicated to certain parts of the hobby.
  8. We didn't. We took it upon ourselves to produce a steam version, which we feel has the best chance of achieving good sales. If sales revenue justifies the time spent to produce it, we'll do more. Simples...
