  1. Some internal views of the cab in this article https://www.railfreight.com/railfreight/2023/08/02/uk-rail-operations-group-gets-the-keys-to-their-tri-mode-locomotive/
  2. Try resetting the Cv but if the problem persists then unfortunately the motor driver may be burnt out yet the chip will still produce sounds. I have a couple of chips like this and they can still be used if you are top and tailing or double heading with a dummy loco.
  3. Considerably better than the Hornby 58 but (livery errors asides) never seems to sell well. Short lifespan not many liveries - would it be a profitable choice?
  4. Dapol Class 73 £99 @ Rails https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/bargain-class-73-locomotives?_kx=X51zJJoxbk3Upd4RHLpNZeySSwdtrTiMYZeiKTqqbIU%3D.RXkVMS&utm_campaign=•BARGAIN• Dapol OO Class 73s&utm_id=01H93A815PE468Q2N6TQYWQQ3G&utm_medium=campaign&utm_source=Klaviyo
  5. Disappointing on many levels. Okay so they had to make a compromise and put in a large capacitor, however the lighting doesn't stay alive for very long (for the size of it I would expect 4 or 5 seconds)
  6. Does anyone know if Hornby are supplying the upgraded coach lighting strips as spares?
  7. I fear I relied on the RMWeb server as my backup...I will take a look...
  8. Unless you have been watching Picard on Amazon, you probably wouldn't know that character only couples up with the same class of rolling stock (I don't think yours Mike)
  9. I have taken a chance on the updated APT, by buying an NDM. (I sent my last set back as it had too many of the problems listed here) What an improvement Negotiates 2nd radius curves and setrack pointwork at speed, no derailments. Haven't tried gradients yet but doubt they will be an issue fr a 7 car set (which is what I will run) There is now a larger lid for the DCC chip, which is 21 pin. Well done Hornby for listening and getting these errors fixed and thank you Now just waiting on a bargain rake!
  10. Now that Dapol are making an 88, pe4haps this topic should be locked?
  11. Link to the photos mentioned above http://www.cornwallrailwaysociety.org.uk/uploads/7/6/8/3/7683812/123b-20230630-162426-93001-rog-m5n-j11a-002-30th-june-2023-copyright-david-field_orig.jpg A great candidate photo for a caption competition perhaps?
  12. Nice to see they have made improvements but I will wait for the reviews before buying
  13. Still the same floppy pantograph?
  14. I understand that some us would like a rake of coaches to go with two power cars - however I would be happy to sacrifice the relatively minor detail differences (doors?) between the prototype and the production Mk3, so at least I see something on my layout. That being the case I hope that Rails of Sheffield, with an eye on sales of the power car, should put out an EOI to see if they can get enough orders to commission Hornby or Oxford Rail to do a limited edition in this livery (ideally with coaches nearer to £50) based on current toolings. I very much doubt Bachmann will tool up Mark 3s just for the HDST but if they did they will be north of £100 each, without a doubt too much for most us to consider.
  15. IIRC Rapido withdrew from this project because of escalating production costs. I wonder if their expected RRP would have been a lot less than Rails RRP for £199?
  16. Already answered on page 76 here by Fran of Accurascale 'As we explained during the development process we couldn’t etch the polos convincingly due to their design. Moulding them is the only way to capture their 3D nature with finesse. Cheers! Fran' https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/142172-class-92-by-accurascale/?do=findComment&comment=5029697
  17. Class 88 please, see them all the time...
  18. Why not put out an EOI like Rails and Accurascale did for the 89 and the like of Revolution trains for their IPA carriers, then take pre order deposits and early bird discounts?
  19. I thought that obscure prototypes are more Heljan's thing?
  20. Accurascale must have worked really hard to get that pantograph working on the 92. Others have tried and failed (Bachmann excepted and there's is very good imo) the 89 would have been a progression of that investment and then any other emu or loco. Hopefully an 88 next . Don't think an N gauge 89 would be a great idea for detail freaks like Accurascale when for now they can mine gold more easily in OO For example how about Lab 4 Prometheus? How about it Accurascale?
  21. Don't you remember? The future's bright... The future's... (Other defunct telecommunications providers are also no longer available)0
  22. If they are taking over tooling, they are going to get artwork as well, so assuming Hattons' designs don't need any money spent attending to them, it's just a question as to whether they think they can sell 504 Pink ONEs before Bachmann does. Hornby is not in this game.
  23. The pink ONE livery was the reason I bought the Hattons model in the first place, however there were the quality control issues - removing and replacing the shell for example and it has to go back. I guess either Accurascale haven't negotiated the licence from Freightliner yet or they are holding back these liveries for batch 2 - that's okay as I need some time to save up.
  24. Well sir, it is hard to argue with someone when they are brandishing a weapon like that!
