About Me

I suppose, my transition from enjoying model trains into railway modelling began one Christmas in the mid 1970s, when my parents gave me copy of Norman Simmond's book "How to go Railway Modelling" (second edition) and subscriptions to both "The Railway Magazine" and "Railway Modeller". My influences from those days mean I remain very much in the schools of Ahern and Freezer, with much inspiration from Hancock and Naylor.

I built a British H0 layout in the early 1980s, but my stock was all 00 - a Mainline J72 and some small wagons. I have since dabbled in many other scales, but the event which fired up my return to H0 was seeing a brand new Roco EE shunter for sale at an exhibition in the Autumn of 2014. The layout I had started to build for my 00 shunters was ideal for an H0 application, and I haven't looked back.

Almost all of my railway modelling activity until 2015 has  been in building layouts for RTR trains. I am now building railway models as well.
