  1. Sounds more like someone trying to cover their own backside as to why they could not fulfil the order to me... They are still available from many other retailers.
  2. Cowboys suck is the first words anyone from Philadelphia learns!
  3. Found another while scanning some more of my slides today, 47 534 at Falmouth Docks with the 0910 (?) to London Paddington.
  4. I seem to remember seeing 47 606 Odin quite a bit as in the image below. 47 618 Fair Rosamund also sticks in the memory. Cardiff or Old Oak allocated were the most common. As most of the 47s came in on inter-regionals pretty much any of the eth fitted ones could turn up. A selection from the mid to late 80s (I have not scanned all my 1988 - 1990 collection yet) 47 565 - another Cardiff one 47 584 County of Suffolk - from Stratford 47 443 - from Gateshead 47 575 - from Cardiff 47 631 - from Bescot 47 379 - from Tinsley 47 213 - from Bristol 47 620 Windsor Castle - Old Oak 47 453 - Crewe 47 620 Windsor Castle again - Old Oak
  5. Eagles fan since seeing them play the Bills at Wembley in 1991. Been to many games at the Vet, a regular of the infamous 700 section! Most enjoyable game for me was when we stopped Emmitt Smith on 4th and 1 twice late in the 4th Quarter and went on to beat the hated Cowboys. Got to enjoy it for a second time when I got home and found Gary Imlach had picked it as his game of the week and it was on the Channel 4 highlights! Still have the VHS video somewhere..
  6. Distance Selling Regulations mean that you can cancel your order up to 14 days after you have received it (it used to be 7 but has recently been extended to 14) and receive your money back and postage in full. You may be responsible for the cost of returning the model if you cancel after you have received it. So unless the NRM are going to breach the law then you can get your £50 back if you change your mind for any reason whatsoever. This of course only applies if you ordered either by phone, post or website. If you ordered in person at Shildon you are not covered by these regulations and it would then be at their discretion if you changed your mind.
  7. Or you can just read the NRM advert in Model Rail and see the answer right now!
  8. Truro - Falmouth is the branch concerned. There is always the difficulty of getting these schemes off the ground to begin with. Frequency is definitely the key but you cannot start with a high-frequency service from day 1 unless you have a very very big pot of cash available. As long as nothing is done that precludes future enhancement schemes you have to start somewhere and you can go back and add upgrades as required. Bathgate would be a good example of this.
  9. It was to save running two units together that the splitting ceased. The RETB worked happily for a number of years prior to Class 156s being brought in.
  10. Sorry, I don't think I made it clear enough what I meant. What you say is of course correct, but at present the journey from Bere Alston to Gunnislake takes 18 minutes. The planned journey time from Bere Alston to Tavistock is only projected to take 9 minutes. You can get an hourly Tavistock service in (as confirmed by CK above with conditions) but you will not be able to get the unit from Bere Alston to Gunnislake and back in time to connect with this. It won't even work for a 90 minute service.
  11. An awful lot of on the cushions mileage, unless you can recruit a local crew happy to work Gunnislake to BA for ever!
  12. It would need the Gunnislake portion to take the same time to make the return trip as the Tavistock portion to make the timetable work to an hourly pattern.
  13. No mention of Bachmann in the title of this forum? RMweb → Trade & Products Zone → Products & Trade area → Bachmann Seems quite clear it is Bachmann to me...
  14. As Bachmann have never given an RRP for the Warflat whatever price indication that retailer has given is basically made up! A similar thing has been done with the Brighton Atlantic which cannot possibly be anywhere near the made up price.
  15. The Queen Mary was also tooled many many many years ago!
  16. However his drivers cab side window is open and the yodel must be sounding virtually at his ear level as he passes the post! Assuming of course that the yodel is in the usual position on the offside warning lights...
  17. Peco decided not to proceed after Dapol brought their masts out with promises of a full range to follow. With the benefit of hindsight perhaps Peco should have continued...
  18. Captain Kernow - I have the solution to fixing the breach...
  19. This particular trip was from Swindon. I think three or four were dealt with there instead of Eastleigh for some reason.
  20. Having some spare time over the Christmas holiday I found this working at Reading: - At that time there was so much loco variety to be seen I never bothered looking at wagons - I wish now I had paid more attention to the match wagons and brake vans on this working!
  21. Think you will find they were Class 482, numbered 482 501 - 482 510. Class 483 is the "new" Isle of Wight stock.
  22. From the Distance Selling Regulations Your customers’ duty to take care of goods When a customer returns the goods to you in accordance with the contract, the customer must take reasonable care to ensure that you receive the goods and that the goods are not damaged in transit. If the customer does not exercise reasonable care and the goods are damaged, you may have a claim against them for breach of this duty. If a customer fails to return the goods despite being required to by the contract, then you may have a claim against the customer for breach of contract. If you have not provided the required information, you cannot charge anything, even if it is in your contract. You cannot charge for returns if the goods are faulty or do not comply with the contract or order.
