      Never tried it but would a coat of varish (gloss or stain) work recalling the transformation of some Airfix liveries once varnished.

    Well that's another computer gone down and no parts available.... Most stuff backed up but annoying just the same. I suppose 10 years isn't bad but the dreaded Windows 10 on a new one is a worry.

      Main issue you have is probably with updates installing - just make sure it is set to require a manual reboot. If you find start menu strange install Classic shell.
