  1. Clearance Sale OO gauge New brings up in its listings E10005 Exclusive First Edition (EFE) 1:1750 Scale R.M.S. Olympic WWI Dazzle Livery Also the pages do not show Clearance Sale has been selected - the only clue is that there are 29 pages whereas OO gauge New brings up 155 pages
  2. Who sold Hattons locos otherthan themselves ? IIRC it was the 66 being in direct competition with the Bachmann model.
  3. Might have been the Airfix one from the 4F tweaked with coal rails added.
  4. Metal trim along the sides has a lip on top of around 1mm.
  5. Reviewed in the April Model Rail; no need to look further for the April Fool.
  6. The stock rail - blade connection can be a point of weakness over time in any scale IME. Another weakness of Peco points is the non prototypical pivot at the blade to wing rail. I have had one fail with the weight of a Bachmann 08 on it. Making the mods will resolve the first from occurring but not the second. IMO they should fit all the connections anyone might need so the purchaser only has to chop wires they do not want and not have to apply a soldering iron.
  7. This paint supplier considers the yellow has have turned more orange over time https://paintman.co.uk/?s=warning+panel&post_type=product&type_aws=true
  8. Once you get the new one do a test of it with 16v ac to each coil in turn before fitting it to check its functioining okay.
  9. The 1974 Hornby tooling made use of an adaption of their GWR Toad chassis. The lit light only existed on models made 1974-1976. Source: The Story of Rovex Vol 3 1972-1996
  10. Seller on ebay has currently six sets of the driving wheels https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265464840440
  11. That happened to a neighbours cat back in the early 1980s; he had caught a poisoned rat. Having become his best friend he turned up at the back door a few hours before he died and instead of bounding in gave me a very sad sounding meow, which was also strange as he rarely made a noise, and walked away. Last I saw of him but it shows cats do have feelings as it was clearly him saying thanks and good bye,
  12. Just apply 16v ac to the common and in turn each of the coil contacts and see if the motor works.
  13. Have you tried the motor disconnected from the point?
  14. Something about the "face" does not look right to me - too much yellow above the headcode and the handrail looks straight when it should have a slight curve to it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_47#/media/File:D1941_-_landore_-_aug_1967.jpg
  15. If only one side of the brake van is normally seen on the layout suggest fitting a guard figure in front of the light box on the side that is seen
  16. If the motor works okay off the point the problem could be the overcentre spring is too strong for the motor and the spring tension needs tio be eased very slightly. Very simple with the former design of a top mounted overcentre spring whereas use of a small flat blade screwdriver could be used to move the spring mount slightly further away from the tiebar, but a something of a pain with the new bottom mounted design.
  17. Bachmanns Double Fairlie, Quarry Hunslet and Penryn Mainline Hunslet 0-4-0s will as the Peco/Kato England locos will go round 183mm radius curves
  18. And unless something is very weird with Dapols instructions given they quote Lais decioder numbers the Dapol decoders are reabdged Lais ones,
  19. I found with Roco transformer my Multimaus was giving a peak track voltage of 24v. The original solution was two strings of diodes in opposing direction in one leg of the layout feed to drop the voltage. Now use a 19.6v laptop power supply which results in a track voltage of 17.8v.
  20. Dapol fit 10k resistors to dim the LEDs in their 73
  21. ? https://railsofsheffield.com/cdn/shop/products/IMG_2605_720x.jpg?v=1637851911
  22. Those Mainline coaches were later sold by Replica and Bachmann albeit not in that cream and crimson livery and today are used as Gordons coaches in the Thomas range
  23. Comparable with or less than Peter Spares charges, two con rod screws £2 N gauge, £6 O gauge
