  1. Accurascale were excellent after my message, they sent me an 8 ohm version of the Em1 (Accurathrash) speaker so now my 37001 and 55001 are both within the 4 ohm limits for the ESU v5... Thanks Accurascale, looking forward to my 31 and 50 now. regards Doug
  2. I have to say the 8 ohm ESU speaker is ok and has not taken much away at all. In fact in one of my older Bachmann 37s I had a large Zimo double dumbo installed in the fuel tanks for a test I replaced it first off with the 8 ohm ESU speaker in the tanks with a smaller single limo in the rook it sounded very good. However once i got hold go the 4 ohm large ESU speaker I changed it for the single speaker in the fuel tanks, I am quiet pleased with the result and might look to do more. I plan top catch up with Rob and his WHL v4 layout to see what the new 8ohm EM1's sound like. regards Doug
  3. That's a shame, where as I reckon Legomanbiffo is the top sound available (my opinion don't shoot me) my 37001 is going fine and sounds fine with its default sound. If that changes I will reblow with Legomanbiffo. But it is because I have changed the EM1 speaker for an ESU 8 ohm speaker (the new passive one) myself after being turned down by Accurscale for a replacement. My friend Rob wrote to them and was sent 2 replacement EM1's rated at 8 ohms. I only hope the 31 and the 50 are being built to the 4 ohm limit. I have decided in future to buy my locos without sound and sort it myself. Even the Bachmann ones as I prefer to have an ESU chip rather than the Zimo. And that is only because I have an ESU Lok Programmer. regards Doug
  4. Ok so an update from me regarding my new YD7001 and the WiThrottle issue I was having. I was trying to use the YD7001 to connect a TCS throttle then route through to my jmri on the PC to get the roster. I cannot do that and have to use the home router to gain access. So from the Yamoroc group it appears you cannot do this see below quote However I have things working ok but I have scrapped the idea of using a spare DR5000 on a display layout as it will not do as I need. I would still need a router to go with it. All in all its a disappointment but I am still happy with my upgrade now I have it working at home, the TCS and any tablet/phone can use the home router fine. regards Doug
  5. That was my thought on my 2nd DR5000, keep it as a backup spare. If the first went south maybe I could use that instead.
  6. Well I had mine Wednesday and upgrade went ok , activation code arrived in under 2 hours. My software upgrade went through after 2 attempts. (more my error, despite following the guide) by the end of the day I had managed to connect to the track and the jmri setup on my PC. Had a few issues with my TCS throttle, decided to take a break and have another go today. So first thing was to check to make sure the firewall was not causing any problems. After that moved jmri and the control of the unit to LAN connection instead of USB. That went well. At the end of wednesday my TCS throttle would not operate correctly, so today I did a factory reset of the throttle and it started working allowing me to drive loco's via the YD7001. So my only negative is that I cannot access the jmri roster when connected to the YD7001 wifi but my work around is to connect via the home router and it works fine. I find it odd that it worked through the DR5000 ok. I assume its the addition of the withrottle protocol to the unit. I have written to the Yamorc/Digikejs forum about that. I have another DR5000 in the garage which I wanted to use on my display layout, at this stage it will not do what I need so it will have to sit and wait for now. I am pleased I withdrew from buying two. regards Doug
  7. Well that's good news, I decided to reorder one only, I will keep the spare DR5000 as is in the garage for now and see how it goes, regards Doug
  8. I don't doubt about your support at all, I am a happy customer. I was testing the new 8 ohm speaker having been given it at Warley and spoken with the ESU guy there. Its just an option if people are worried.. regards Doug
  9. NO it replaces the EM1 speaker leaving the sugar cube as is... New speaker coming from ESU now . Unplug the old one plug in the new one. Clips work the same on both and that it sorted. Road and Rails have listed it as incoming now ESU Speaker 24x55x8.6mm, 8 Ohm, Passive Radiator 50346 (Due Q1 2024) | Roads And Rails (roads-and-rails.co.uk)
  10. Check the new ESU 8 ohm speaker instead of the Accurathrash EM1 so setup would be 4 ohms
  11. Hi all, I am still undecided, I might venture to buy one and see how it goes before I deal with my spare. Although I was considering using the spare on my display layout. I assume that I would still need a cross cable to connect to the laptop or use a small hub/switch with normal cabling. Unless the port on the DR5000 is going to be altered in some way. Doug
  12. I had 2 on preorder but ended up giving up. Not sure what I am going to do now.
  13. Thank you on both counts, I will do as you suggest and trim the pipes.
