I see that the RMweb logo at the top of the page is now saying that this is the "ad version".
Even when logged in...
Is this the top of a slippery slope?

Is the RMweb help guide on sending PMs readily available?

Week off work and no modeling done because I cannot find the part I ordered that arrived last week

Hello! New to this site and to YouTube! I’m a beginner in terms of modelling but have around 10 locos and some respectable stock. Excited to join this community find my channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1mBB0U8ATptKYXNxoSbH3g
constructive criticism is very welcome and if you’re not interested that’s fine! Any support is appreciated! Stay safe during the virus people and have a good day. Ollie

Its hard to say, but is it factory DCC fitted or has it had a chip installed? I found that my 153s seem much better using some decoders than others, but of course that's on DCC not DC. I'd check the obvious things first, like that the pickups and wheels are clean and that there's nothing preventing the motor from spinning freely.

was amazed to see an old battered Trabant on the road today. Maybe it was a reminder to watch 'Deutschland 86' tonight!

I must be one of the top RMwebbers as my name's always first on the list of who's online.

Always find it a bit sad when I realise someone no longer visits/posts on RMweb. Those I have been used to seeing on a regular basis. Just discovered another. It's life I know....
-
Sometimes it's just that people drift away, just like friendships, you go a week without visiting, then a few weeks, then all of a sudden it's been a year and you haven't even thought about modelling or RMWeb as life has gotten in the way...
Funnily enough it occurred to me the other day that I haven't seen anything from a couple of regular posters for a while.

There are Italian artisans at large in Totnes. They are apparently there to bake bread.

Was looking at the Manchester trams. Is it me or does anyone else think having to have platforms to enable people to get on and off is one of the most stupid ideas for a tram ever.
-
Trams don't *need* platforms at all - look at a lot of European systems where older stretches of line still just have roadside tramstops - Dresden for example, where the [low floor] trams run down the centre of the road, and traffic has to stop to allow people to alight. Not even onto a kerb, just straight on to the road. Trams carry manual ramps for wheelchair users.

Spent half the night looking for an intercity NEA ... no idea when I last saw it or where I put it.

In Katowice for two weeks, following a phone call the house had been broken into and trashed. Doesn't look too bad, apart from a half brick in the hall !

Was on a class 321 EMU coming back from Wakefield. It was giving out a strange metallic drippiing sound, from below the floor, every half second. No idea what it can have been.t

Is it just me, or do other people have trouble opening a packet of biscuits using that little red strip ? I usually give up and use a knife.
-
A knife is better anyway. Slice right through between the first and second biscuit, eat the first and second biscuit, then turn the piece of plastic the other way and re-insert it into the packet, it helps re-close and keep them fresh (for those of us for whom biscuits last long enough to need it!)...

Has the 50015 valiant thread been deleted? It says that 'i do not have permission to view topic'.

How the h£ll could someone stir up enough cr@p to get the bargain hunters thread locked? Get a life!
-
As NXEA says, it seems that the problem is more the amount of froth that people create complaining, than the actual drift - and from what I've seen, most drifts were questions or queries related to the bargain at hand, in the same way you might ask a question of someone told you of the bargain in a conversation.

East Lancashire Railway attacked by vandals http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-40742336 Another one? Really cannot see the attraction is such a thoughtless and destructive act. Why preserved railways?
