Sad indeed- are we being a teensy bit over cautious?
  2. ]My old 4F, built from a GEM kit some 30 odd years ago has now been retired, it has been dropped countless times repainted twice and had a new tender. At Houten the frames were rebushed to keep it going. To replace it a new 4F is being built, largely from a Raithby kit, but with a few scratchbuilt details. It is nearly finished now, just a few more fiddly bits to add, and paint. The pictures show progress to date.
  3. Great photos Jerry - I lurve the Spitfire shot! I can't claim the building of the B12- It was crafted by the late Geoff Balfour- my input was to build a working chassis, finish a few final bits'n'bobs, and Ian Rathbone kindly painted the model. It does look magnificent though.
  4. Great photos Jerry. For those who don't know I can't clain all the credit for the B12 Hitchiker. The model was constructed by the late Geoff Balfour, and required finishing off really. I added a few bits'n'bobs, and built a working chassis (Geoff's chassis would never have been a runner unfortunately). The paint job was by courtesy of Ian Rathbone, and very handsome it looks too. It has been mentioned elsewhere on RMWeb, but it would be really great to discover the whereabouts of his armoured train, which was loaned to the Beverely Tank(?) Museum.
