RIP Dave 'Swarbs' Swarbrick (died 6th June) arguably the most influential British folk rock violinist since the 60's, ex Fairport Convention and a long solo career. Did so much to reinvigorate British folk music. Joining that great band elsewhere. Maybe he and Sandy Denny will play together again.

  To be fair, it was worth waiting a couple of days this time, just to be sure. Ah, my favourite fiddle player. I have a couple of his song books from when he was selling things on eBay a few years ago. They've taken on a greater meaning now, sadly
