  1. Thanks for posting the video. Thanks for the invite Jerry. Echoing all that everyone has said about this little show. A brilliant weekend in every respect and, of course, thanks to Jerry and Simon for organising it with the catering and cake 'team', Kim and Edna (there were others behind the counter who also played a significant part but I can't recall the names - it's an age thing...!) I'll always travel a little way to get to this kind of event. A really good standard show with something for everyone. There were some very nice comments made about 'Pit Hill', our model of the self acting incline, notwithstanding the fact there was not a jot of scenery on it. It's been some time in the planning and the manufacture of the bits and pieces to get us where we are. Thank you to those who took special interest in it. I don't know whether a GWR engine would ever have appeared on a County Durham Colliery system John (although you never know, because some did travel far and wide..!) but it was good to see the fruits of your labour running. Pit Hill will be at Railwells in the same form in a couple of weeks time. Mick S.
  2. Pete, Layout looking great, as ever, you can't beat the little layouts to take to shows. Withstands the close-ups very well, if you don't mind me saying...! Well done. Mick S.
  3. Simon, Ah, the wonderful world of exhibiting model railways. I'm sure you enjoyed yourselves. It's a bit like a drug; if you don't do a show, after a little while you get withdrawal symptoms. The digs read like a Brian Rix stage production, very amusing.....! (or am I giving my age away here) Mick

Excellent and could I add my endorsement to missy's request for some reading matter on the construction which I'm sure 2 mil members would love to read about? Mick S

    Inspiration

It was the sausage roll............ Trouble is I'm difficult to catch without something in my mouth when there's food on the go....! Nice pictures of the old locos and the Causey Arch Andy. I've just updated the NEAG blog as well. Mick
  6. Hi Chris, the chassis looks good. Re the wires - I have for some considerable time used wire from pick up arms of old record players (remember those?) for electrical contact between loco and tender. It's multi strand and measures .65mm diameter. Soldered as far as possible into the chassis, be it loco or tender, there is less likelihood of the soldered joint break due to flexing. Mick S
  7. has not set their status

  8. Trevor,

This is excellent and I feel sure the 2mm Magazine readers would like to see more of this. Any chance you could write something up.

    cheers

    Mick
