  1. Hello there, Looking for an experienced hobbyist knows there way around a Bachmann Mk2. Essentially I have a set of the old Model Rail DRS Escort coaches, now while they look nice they are still essentially just glorified repaints. NIU models have recently released an upgrade kit for the BR Mk2 which I would like added to the coaches. Tried to directly link NIU models here but it wouldn't let me, but the kit in question is their latest post here - https://www.facebook.com/niumodels The project will require modifications to the coaches with previous bits excising and new ones that I will suppy with instructions from NIU being added. The new additions would then need to be colour matched to the coach work they are being added to. I don't have enough experience with this level of modification of rolling stock to trust myself to do a good job on this, so I am looking for a more experienced pair of hands to assist. If you are interested, either post below or PM me and we can talk further. Thanks for looking
  2. The Hattons Genesis Coaches Run 3 will include Longmoor Versions.
  3. Found this on Shapeways https://www.shapeways.com/product/EKJT8CEAF/lner-class-f4-2-4-2-tank-locomotive-kit?optionId=56452421&li=user-wishlist Which I think is the closest I can get to an F4. I have ZERO experience with building my own locomotives though. Even as a display non runner I imagine the rods et al are complicated to assemble.
  4. The train itself, needs a couple of bits still doing but happy with how it is turning out.
  5. Been wanting to build one of these for a while and the article in Model Rail finally inspired me to have a go. One notable stumbling block was the lack of an RTR F4, so I had to compromise with a second hand R1 I liberated from Hattons. Below is the general look I was going for.
  6. Kernow had a few apparently so ordered x2, The website for the other place was down.
  7. Certainly looks smarter than my own attempts
  8. Today's purchases. Modern Warwell and Land Rover 1 Tonne Ambulance.
  9. Not forgotten about the layout, since the old one has now been disassembled I currently planning a new diorama/smaller layout using AnyRail software. Plus a visit to Hatton's tomorrow!
  10. They would be perfect for my planned layout.
  11. This has caught my eye. It would do rather nicely!
  12. Very interested in the Army/MOD one
  13. I have used S&S FV432s for my military layout with no issue.
  14. It was a shame Oxford never did the 4-Tonner tbh, but I managed to get a fair few JB models kits before the got rare.
  15. One of the more noticable absences from modern military and railway modelling is the MAN HX series of trucks currently in use by the British Army and other armed forces. The only other modern(ish) kit out there is the now OOP JB Models/Airfix Bedford MK. The MAN HX has a wide variety of subclasses ranging from 4 to 16 wheelers in many configurations. I've been after some for my layout for a long time now and I am suprised a company like Oxford has not looked into it. Even Shapeways only has N gauge offerings. Modern military vehicles are a little niche but companies like Oxford LOVE niche so hopefully this is something they might consider.
  16. The layout itself has been taken up for now due to pending house move, so in the interim I may try and put together a small yard diorama. Ideas are welcome, although my skill at modelling is middling at best so I cannot promise amazing results!
  17. Bought an LMR Austerity, at nearly £40 off it was too good to miss.
  18. Still waiting patiently for a proper DRS Escort Coach set
