  1. Yes I remember that. When Ramsgate got the first of the CIGs I loved it! But 3/4 of the crews claimed they werent trained on them because some had Electric Parking Brake instead fof the ships wheel hand brake, didnt worry me, I got to drive all of the Cigs and swapped over from the lousy jobs! CIGs definitely rode best of all the SR Stock and were a pleasure to drive, VEPS were tempremental whilst the CEPS would do anything you aksed them to.............happy days.................sadly gone..............
  2. At Ramsgate, where I was Driver, we had 3 re-geared 4 EPBs used on the Ramsgate - Cannon St services and 1 on a Ramsgate Victoria, 5625/27/28 and they went like a rocket with CEPs attached, however VEPS gave a rougher ride if coupled to them.
  3. I havnt been so aggressive with the saw as on page 10, I carefully cut out the door with a craft knife leaving 1 mm on the bottom, then reinforcing the coach front by welding a peice of plastic card into the cut aperture to give the body back its regidity, cut grooves in the side of this and the base to thread the LED wires and plate through and re assembled. I didnt lower the headcode as I realised once I had made the cut!!! My headcodes are placed inside the panel, which is correct and not on the outside which looks awful, but with what I've done I can live with it and have learned from my initial mistake.
  4. This is the only way I know of showing my pics........https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150765195569639.401737.631914638&type=1&l=2a48230ee0. Thanks will give it a look, looking forward to this..........................................
  5. I will post pics later this week, so you can give me your own opinions. Now the wife has just bought me a NSE version, so looks like I'm going to have to re do this one as well.
  6. I've just spent 5 dyas working on my 4 VEP to make it look more like a $ VEP, I have moved the front end Corridor Door further into the Corridor Cionnection, re-vamped the cab interior - it was solid and shouldn't be, and spliced ina set of wndows and doors ffor the 1st Class compartments and its improved the look 110%. Also added the correct roof ribbing and just got to start on the other DT Coach now!
