Mark 2b, By Accurascale and IRM!
Colin_McLeod replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
It looks like it may have been fitted with a 21mm gauge compatable bogie intended for the Irish versions of these coaches. -

The Irish post code system ( Eircode) has a unique Eircode for each individual property. Our Eircode is therefore different from our neighbours.

Is it permitted to name and shame the manufacturers of unrealistic models? 😁 -

Or maybe your trains are unrealistically big 😁 -
In oo I use 10" per coach plus 12" for loco. For a loco and four coaches this works out at 52". Just a rule of thumb which works for me.

A small scene on the prototype can be the inspiration to model that scene somewhere on my layout. I could be equally inspired by a scene on someone else's layout.

Here is a photo of my IRM NIR Mk2 coaches with a Murphy Models NIR GM No 111. The blue on the coaches is much darker than on the locomotive. I remember the prototype as all being the same colour as in this photograph taken at Belfast Central. February 1981 So; who has got the colour correct? IRM, Murphy Models or neither? -
Excellent.

The convex bumps on one coach match into the concave bumps on the next coach, helping to maintain corridor alignment for passenger comfort. -
So Hattons buys Model TrainStuff and Rails of Sheffield buys Hattons, would that make it Rails of Hatts 'n Stuff? 😀

But if you do that, then the warranty will no longer include the flushing. 😁 -
Nice gesture Hattons. https://bala-lake-railway.co.uk/hattons-model-railways-closing-down-sale/

Very intetesting article, but I have to confess that I thought the thread title was a typo for "changing trains"!

IRM To Produce CIE A/001 Class Locomotive
Colin_McLeod replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
This flight had a stop over at Reykjavík and AFAIK was thus the first (and only) mainline locomotive in Iceland. -
