  1. This is looking good. I shall follow progress with interest. What make is the shed building? I'm looking for something similar.
  2. I'm in agreement with you. I'm committed to this scale. I want to know enthused people's thoughts and musings on the subject. the rest, they're like wasps at a picnic. it's tedious.
  3. is everyone using 2D printed brick paper then?
  4. definitely interested in a standard 20T brake or 4
  5. Hi all, I'm making the switch from OO to TT3 and TT120. I'm used to modelling in plasticard/plastic strip. For those of you who scratch build buildings, which I'm guessing would be a fair few in these scales, could anyone suggest where I could get embossed brick plastic sheets from please? I've found that Slaters do a 1.100 Flemish Bond A4 sized sheet, but I wondered if there were other options with different bonding patterns, in particular, Running Bond. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  6. Heh Andy, Many thanks. That's really useful for the general geography of the station and works confines, although I'm modelling the works at a later date when the internal track layout changed with the building of the large two track build and repair shop. I'd be very interested in any photos you have too if you'd be happy to share - purely for private use of course. i wouldn't be sharing them elsewhere. Have you started a layout topic on the forum? I'm still in the early stages of collecting info, so i've nothing to show at present.
  7. Chee Tor was amazing. Saw it at the Manchester show one year.
  8. Thanks Mark. I'm modelling '78-83 and i'd like to have some semblance of accuracy.
  9. Would the different spring types tie them to certain eras or did the plain type last until withdrawal?
  10. I too would've preferred a little more info regarding the actual modelling, rather than the history behind the reason for the build, but nevertheless i enjoyed the show and both eddie and pete were likeable.
  11. I wonder why the 50 has wire handrails whilst the 08's are moulded?
  12. I would love both of those. Another essential piece of rolling stock missing from Hornby's programme is the BR Standard 20T brake van.
  13. i was hoping the grey tankers had the ladder position of the green tanker but it's a minor quibble. can't wait to receive mine. was there any indication of a release date?
  14. They feature disc wheels which I thought an unusual choice for wagons of this vintage.
  15. it was adjacent, which makes it even more odd that there aren't that many photos
  16. Many thanks Will. I've seen the photo. The added information about trip workings was interesting. There appears to be a real paucity of photos of this location which surprises me as it's adjacent to the station on a line that was very well used at the time.
  17. Hello all, I'm looking for photos and a track plan of the wagon works at Reddish South circa 1978 to 1983. I've trawled Google and Flickr and Paul Bartlett's site, so I'm reaching out to the RMWeb community to see if anyone can provide me with any more. It's for a modelling project. Many thanks for reading.
  18. oh dear. that doesn't bode well for confidence in future releases. i'm unfamiliar with both vehicles, but if i'd have bought them, and then found out later that one was stretched, i'd be rather peeved if i initially thought i'd bought a scale model.
  19. The BR blue 08 is now showing 'out of stock'. obviously a good seller
  20. was it easy to adapt the bogies to the wider gauge of TT?
  21. I feel there's a real dearth of, and a need for, good UK outline N scale, (indeed for all scales), heavy plant for the period from the 1960s to the late 80s. Hy-mac 580 excavators were everywhere and yet, to the best of my knowledge, no one has produced one.
  22. I'd be interested in knowing from any European modellers, which unframes/chassis from European wagons could be put to use under British models. I'm relatively happy building box wagons and opens but a quicker way to get there would be very useful.
  23. How many class 58s are there remaining in the UK?
