  1. The attached pictures show some signals at Lincoln Central in July 2007. They may be of help in your quest for accurate signal models. John
  2. Another 'must have' loco from Bachmann. I may have to move house to build a larger railway or perhaps become a 'collector' with all the stock displayed in glass rather than working.
  3. Foxbury St Stephen and an LMS express crosses the viaduct
  4. Mine (the LMS version) is running in alongside the 3F and together they are excellent. Will not be looking for so called 'faults', just enjoying the pair taking over services alongside the Compound and other great offerings from Bachmann, John
  5. I agree. Not a lot of point in telling were you went without showing us the layout
  6. Some time back in this thread mention of the Midland and Great Northern route appeared. In the 1950s I lived at Bourne and there was a procession of excursions running though on Saturdays and Sundays from the Midlands (Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester and beyond) to the coast either Skegness, Hunstanton or various North Norfolk locations. Many of these were hauled by two locomotives and these were various combinations of ex MR and LMS 4P 4-4-0s, Ex MR and LMS 4F 0-6-0s and combinations with the Ivatt 2-6-0 class 4s which of course were regulars over the route with the ex GN and LNER J6 class 0-6-0s. Strangely the J6s didn't appear so often on these trains (cannot recall ever seeing them in fact on these duties), presumably because the trains originated in the Midlands. Ex MR and ex LMS versions of the 4F appeared double heading more often than any other combination. Watching Bourne Town playing football on Saturday afternoons also allowed me to see these trains heading through Bourne - much more exciting than the match! JP
  7. Looks very good to me and certainly a simple and cheap option that improves the coaches no end. Will have ago at this. John
  8. Having now waded (its raining here) through all 115 pages over the last week it is very revealing how much progress has been made on Peterborough. From a thought process, via baseboards, trial and error hidden siding 'designs', to a great looking model of the fondly remembered station has not taken very long, although no doubt it is feeling like a lifetime. Really great photographs now appearing regularly and I am looking forward to plenty more. Trouble is, it takes up time that you could be modelling which is my experience. Railway detailing and building slows down when running trains takes over. Never mind, we have a service to provide don't we!
