David,
Yes I'm afraid that you are very unlikely to get a response from Nick. A few of his models appeared on Ebay quite a few years ago and I was fortunate enough to purchase his 1P project. His Sentinel shunter also appeared at the same time along with some stock which went elsewhere. I contacted the vendor to ask about the models, but it turned out that he'd come in to possession of the models from a house clearance and that he had no knowledge of what had happened to the owner (Nick). No idea if the layout survived but I suspect not unfortunately, although I'd be very pleased to hear to the contrary.
Best Wishes

Fantastic stuff Dave! Got to be the best example of a 4mm Black 5 I know other, closely followed by your previous efforts. Very much looking forward to seeing David's efforts once it's been through the paint shops.

Looks great Dave! Interesting observation about the revision to the drawbar pivot, I'll have a think about that for mine.
Many Thanks

Excellent post Dave. I find the dismembered Ivatt 2 image particularly useful. It demonstrates perfectly how you've tackled the separate sub assemblies and what's permanently fixed to the main frames. Also items such as the keeper plate and pickups. One question I do have is how you've split coupling rods. Do the leading and trailing rods not need to be permanently assembled? I assume the crankpins hold the rods in place and as you're not using a forked joint on this occasion, the pin is sufficiently long enough to avoid separation once assembled?
I've also been avidly following your Black 5 build on the S4 Forum, as you know I have a few Brassmasters loco's in the queue so the detailed build has been most useful. I look forward to a running session when its safe for us all to do so!
Many Thanks

Yaaaaay, so you have given in to peer pressure Robin and decided to model Barton Hill wagon works too! Perhaps you might consider putting Temple Meads overall roof over the fiddleyard??? :-P
Looks great, fantastic achievement all round! Looking forward to the January meeting already!

Looks fantastic Dave! Have you done anything to the body yet? Some of Bachmann's lining can look a bit heavy at times but this looks spot on.

Blimey Andrew, I wasn't expecting to see that much progress (not quite glacial in my book!). Looking good though with the broad gauge origins plain to see, even at this stage. Looking forward to seeing it (as Tim says) in the flesh.

Cracking set of pictures Andrew, I particularly like the first and last pics! Happy New Year to you too!

I do like the LLSR rolling stock, lovely looking looking loco's! From the photo's I assume this is one you originally built John? Looks very much like your handy work!

Very nice work as always Dave! Good to see this one making progress and a nice solution to cylinder join line.

Good work Bryn! Looking good and you're still probably more productive than I've been recently!! :-)

All the best with the grand plan Chris! I've got a soft spot for the IOW and have always liked the idea of modelling a branchline as appose to a station, what you've drawn up has a lot of promise!
Cheers, Paul

I'll put the date in the diary Tim!! I wasn't there at the start but it'll be an honor to be there at the end! Think I'll have to look away if the threat of the skip materializes! Got a few more years to enjoy it first though! :-)
Ah York! Not sure if it was the same chap but there was someone quietly watching me operate the leverframe for at least 20 minutes, it then transpired that he was the chap who gave the signalling demonstrations at the NRM! Almost expected a score sheet at the end of the session with a bit of constructive criticism and feedback. :-)
I dunno Jerry, I've heard that there's these trains in Spain (or was it Portugal) that slow down and change gauge whilst moving. Could be an interesting challenge for Tim!! ......Gauging over the viaduct could be interesting! :-D

Fantastic work once again Tim! Obi Wan Harrap has taught you well!!

Excellent work as always John! The sunlight on the stock looks superb, it already reminds me of those stunning images captured in Lightmoor's 'BR Steam In Dean'.
Yes next year should be a year of a few first's! The first show that i'll be taking full responsibility for the exhibiting of Clinkerford (Manchester despite being the handover was just as much your show as it was mine John IMHO! :-) ), the first time of operating Clinkerford in a BR guise as well as a GWR guise, and maybe even the first year I finish an item of rolling stock!! :-p
For those interested Clinkerford is also due to make an appearance at the 2013 Cardiff show in October, along with the Scalefour society stand.
Clinkerford really deserves a thread/blog of its own, if only to show off your stunning handiwork John. Maybe it's something that I can work on over the festive period and provide a bit more news, updates and photo's leading up to the outings next year.
For any prospective exhibition organiser's out there, please feel free to pm me if you're interested in booking Clinkerford in either GW and/or BR guises. I am almost certainly looking from 2014 onwards now, however all offers will be considered. :-)
Best Wishes

Really starting to look the part now Tim! To my eye's this is starting to ooze the same sort of atmosphere that Geoff Kent manages to create from his layouts, excellent work!!

Looking good Dave, some excellent progress being made since visiting earlier in the year!! :-D

Thanks Mark, and get well soon!! I was I'll last week and know what you mean about not being able to revise when ill!!
Unfortunately I'm going to miss the AGM too!! :-s I didn't realise it's the same weekend as the Radio1 Hackney festival which I've been lucky enough to get tickets for!
Unfortunately it looks like I'll have exams in August too, but we'll see if I can make an exception!! :-D
Good to see you too Jonny!
Oh, as well as the awesome Western, any chance of some pics (or video) of this rumoured coal drop and hoppers??? ;-) Also any pics of the 16t and 21t's together would be good!
Ta!!!!! :-D
-
Thanks for showing what I missed Mark, all these practice exam papers are getting rather boring now!!! :-) Hopefully I'll be able to make it for August, I can't miss both rally's in the year, otherwise it'll be the first time since my first visit in1999 that I haven't been able to make one or t'other!!
All the best for the exams, can't wait till mine are over, then I can relax at RailEX!!! :-D
Cheers

I'm sure I've seen piccies of Princess Elizabeth visiting Robin and I thought she was serviced on Barrow Road at the time. I'll let you know if I find any evidence! :-)
