  1. I have just spotted your post and am building some Ermefer wine tanks in 7mm and did not realise that lima did something similar in HO if you could scale up your end platforms etc I for one would be very interested also any details of the brake gear "under the skirts" I am attaching some phots I took in the 1980's at Wellington (shropshire) goods yard showing some end details also a photo of how the wine was delivered by road to the bottling plant
  2. Thank you for replying to my problem but I have recently discovered the barrowmore group's website with a lot of working diagrams of said wine tanks giving me the ability to identify the different tanks and so I can start checking my own measurements of both the chassis and tanks as well as the top of tank walkways but still need info about the brake gear and discharge mechanism I haven't thought of looking at the Lima models as I model in 7mm and I will investigate them soon Thanks again
  3. I am trying to build some ERMEFER bogie wine tanks that transported wine from Europe to a bottling plant in Telford (Shropshire) in the 1980's I have downloaded all photos by Paul Bartlett but still need details of the tank fillers, walkways and all the brake actuaters and unloading pipes. I have several grainy slides of them at Wellington goods yard but didn't take any close ups if anyone knows where I can get some details I would be over the moon. I have attached one of my own photo's to show what they looked like.
  4. hello I have just finished a molasses tank based on the photos I took in wellington goods yard in the 80's when they were ex works and i see that you have already got my photo on your jan 6th 2015 post I dont know how you got it but the blue was a darker shade of royal blue almost navy but not as dark
  5. A really excellent show with a very friendly atmosphere, even in the car park, waiting for the show to open! Good access to see all the layouts and all the operators were there to answer any questions. The catering was good and the pleasent seating area was a nice place to meet old friends and catch up with all the gossip, as well as consume tea and cake, pasties and sausage rolls looked good too!! All in all an excellent show with all you need to keep you focussed on finescale modelling. Cant wait for the next one.
  6. I read your intention of modelling in 21 mm finescale with interest, as I was involved with one of the best Irish layouts by the late Tony Miles- Adavoyle Junction. You can find plenty of photos of Adavoyle on the internet mostly by Martin Wynne (of Templot fame) as it was his collaboration with Tony and a few of "the friends of Adavoyle" who built all the trackwork on the layout. A testament to the trackwork was given by Tony Wright when he wrote that "Adavoyle Junction ran on finescale track at Triang speeds!" Hope this some help to you. By the way there has been many articles in the model railway press over the years so if you can find the refernces you will have some good reading - if nothing else
  7. Hello Tom , it was nice chatting to you over the weekend and you have inspired me to get going on my new 2mm finescale project. Why didn't you say you needed relief for various reasons we on the new Stokesay project are always willing to help fellow modellers Hope to see you at some more shows, perhaps even our own in Wellington(Salop)
