  1. That makes sense, would you know if these are recent items?
  2. .............. Oooohhhh!!! .... where's the "Wanna see it now" Icon?
  3. I had better make sure MD doesn't spot the pictures of the bucket and spade set ........... I'm sure I couldn't afford a set!!!
  4. May I add my thanks for this very informative project you have undertaken. The detail of what has been done to restore the line has been fascinating, to say the very least. I still smile every time I recall how they had us all guessing on the first Piles - then put the test gear on to check if their calculations were going to work. Thank you dt, very much.
  5. Good boys - neat job - must have been paying attention in their Domestic Science ... Food Technology .... Kukri Classes ....
  6. It would seem to be 4.6m, if the blurb is to believed. A tidy sum in anyones pocket.
  7. Finally got out of the Sun and Mossies. Needed some assistance for some imminent track laying {about time some might think - so I'll say it for you.} Loco and these 2 Network Rail carriages. Not the most perfect of sound files and it doesn't have lights, strange for these days, but does seem to have see through jewels. I will need to have the top off before I can confirm that and given what it does, might not bother. The EZ Command controller came with it, which only has 10 functions and the F10 doesn't work, if it is not lights. It reminds me why I like the NCE Powercab so much, which I had to get out, to check that the F10, 11, 12 on the loco was working. Apparently redundant stock from a bit of concrete work on Dover beach. 8. The tower doesn't seem very temporary, as it seems to have a concrete base. Coastguard lookout for illegals approaching the beach? View platform for parking officials in the new trailer/container park? High wire slide onto the beach? Platform for seagulls, in the hope of reducing the numbers in Town? Scaffolders put up Site Forman's viewing platform too late? Platform for David to get pictures and measurements for DP upgrade? Olympic practice board for long distance diving? RMT platform to check all trains have additional guard driver? Control tower for Port officials to control ships into hew container dock? Lifeguard lookout platform ready for when the bridge allows floods of locals down tot he beach?
  9. On top of the Piles, with the flat tops?? ......... :locomotive: Eeerrr ..... just orf out for a bit ......................................
  10. Lots of people recommend a water spray to wet the ballast before the squeegy bottle - it has to be a big lorry for all that glue .....
  11. Now they are getting some track down, I can't wait for them to fix the ballast with the squeezy bottle truck containing the PVA, water and meths mixture!!
  12. Would the clamps on the rails be to carry both sets together down to the rafts and then slew one of them sideways to place it for the other line?
  13. Eastleigh rail joiner kit. DSC01156 by Julian Redfern, on Flickr
  14. It seems strange to me, that they might build long continuous sections of rail and then cut them up for laying, it rather defeats the idea of continuous rail. Having said that, it would need rather more than the numbet of carrying machines than are currently visible. The answer will be interesting, particularly as the ballast is now nice and flat.
  15. That 6 t crane is intreguing, as most of the hardware has wheels and that one is designed to operate in a static position. I had a good look and there is little to be seen that looks like a foot-bridge kit. It has quite a span and most times I have seen anything like that, {having actually seen very few, it has to be said!} the system was to bring the span in by rail and crane it up from there. However, they are pretty good on their timing and the crane has it's orange-clad computer present and ready to go and they tend to wander off on their own, if left unoccupied. Having said that, there should be an / some item{s} lying around, which need to be hoisted by a static crane. Could it be some parts for fixing the transition of the cliff steps to the steps rising from the span of the bridge, up where they were spraying the trees with concrete earlier? J
  16. He's going to be working hard, to walk the new welded rails into place with that little machine ..... just doesn't seem good enough for the job ..... J
  17. I assume that is concrete to form the join between steps and the new bridge. It seems a bit of an extreme method for "Scrumping" crab apples ..... J
  18. Well ... that answers the question about what the stacks of wood were for. :sungum: J
  19. That miniature tractor is towing what looks like a pig manure spreader ... perhaps they have time to grow a crop of mushrooms on the rafts, before adding the rails. .... :sungum: J
