I'm still here and I think there are plenty of others.

The LOR closed in December 1956, I only rode on it once in August of that year when I was nine.
-
The coaling cranes (two of them, both movable by rope and capstans) at Herculaneum Dock ran on rails right along the dockside, well outside the bollards - as can be seen on my layout. The cranes might have to be moved along the ship during loading but not past bow and stern lines.

Nothing, I didn't notice that, do you want a copy of the old one to be going on with?
-
Markits catalogue is a downloadable pdf from their website.

We now have two versions of the Fell running on Chapel en le Frith. We had to arrange a token system in the fiddle yard to avoid both arriving in the station at the same time after this occurred once at Pontefract and again at Chapel exhibitions.

If you can find any more potential buyers we'll go ahead with the Sri Lankan Hunslet.

We have no plans to use any product codes but the website does need some attention (when I get time), for now this is the list of 1:87 kits available: YE Taurus 0-8-0DH (as running in Spain) RH 165DS 0-4-0DM or DE Sentinel 4wh DH Sentinel 0-6-0DH (CP version) LMS/WD/FS 0-6-0DE (can be built as BR 12023-32, WD or FS) Hunslet Twin Disc DH (can be built as a 50T 0-6-0 or 35T 0-4-0) All these have been produced to special order, not all that many sales apart from the Spanish Taurus which is one of our best selling kits. We were in contact last year with some modellers in Sri Lanka to produce a kit for their Hunslet 0-6-0s (HE 713/675 et seq.), we said we would go ahead if they could get at least 12 orders but they have only got to 5. I have all the Hunslet drawings for this loco. Michael Edge Judith Edge kits

Hunslet 50550 from J94 Build/Bash
Michael Edge replied to Corbs's topic in UK Standard Gauge Industrial Modelling
Hunslet drawings are at Statfold, they are very helpful, email the works number(s) you are looking for and they will tell you what they have. There's a GA or a pipe and rod diagram for most HE locos. -
Random start ups of TTS fitted loco's
Michael Edge replied to mezzoman253's topic in DCC Help & Questions
Glad to be of help, it puzzled me for a long time and nearly resulted in one expensive loco taking a 5ft dive to the tiled floor. When working on or operating Carlisle I always carry a largish coin in my pocket to drop on the track in case of emergency. -
Random start ups of TTS fitted loco's

We've had this on Carlisle but not just with TTS decoders - did they yours all go in the same direction? The problem seems to be with locos that are DC enabled (ours are not supposed to be but there are a few in the 200+ on the layout) when a loco somewhere else runs into points set the wrong way. -
Mid-Cornwall Lines - 1950s Western Region in 00
Michael Edge replied to St Enodoc's topic in Layout topics
It was probably Nescafe, bought at Asda in Kent - it did work again briefly after drying out but then died completely. 16.2mm check gauge on its way to you today, sorry for the delay. -
We don't have product codes and it's not listed on our website, I need to do something about this. We originally produced the kit to special order from Portugal but there has been a lot of interest (and sales) from there recently - must have been some publicity somewhere.
-
We do quite a few kits in 1:87 scale now, latest was for Hunslet 0-6-0/0-4-0DH (kit builds either) but I don't think any of these were supplied to India or Sri Lanka. Might be worth noting that Hunslet built a batch of 0-8-0DH on 5'6" gauge for India and we do have this in 4mm scale at least.
-
Maybe originally but as trainspotters we called them all semis.
-
What sort of Sentinel do you have in mind? We do kits for the 4wh DH and CP 0-6-0DH in 1:87 scale.

We did try the NCE wireless on Carlisle but it didn't seem to have enough range for 30m x 6m, then someone poured coffee into the handset and it hasn't worked since.... -
We have had the Fell kit since last September, price £95. Nearly completed first test etch posed at Herculaneum Dock. Completed, running under Caryl Street bridge on its way to Manchester. Being turned on Brunswick's 60ft turntable. Michael Edge Judith Edge kits

Industrial Beyer Garratt in EM gauge
Michael Edge replied to Barclay's topic in UK Standard Gauge Industrial Modelling
I've had to repair two of the ones I've built so far, one was a damaged spur gear which I managed to replaced, the other, I can't remember what was wrong with it but I did get it fixed. -

Hunslet 16in is nearly ready to go into production in 7mm...... -
Industrial Beyer Garratt in EM gauge
Michael Edge replied to Barclay's topic in UK Standard Gauge Industrial Modelling
I find the Backwoods gearboxes extremely fiddly to assemble (and I've built at least 18 of them) and almost impossible to repair when they go wrong. -
My comments about Q kits were mainly related to the original resin moulded ones, my only experience of the white metal ones was a USA 0-6-0T - which eventually produced a very nice model (after a lot of work). This is one of Mike's best models, Falcon, produced in the 1970s. Mine, seen here on Cwmafon, is a bit battered after just about surviving a leap on to the floor but still looks good. It also runs perfectly with one Mike Cole built power bogie. More to the point this RH 165DE is an MTK white metal kit, a bit crude by today's standards (I built it in 1981) but an acceptably accurate model, also on Cwmafon. Incidentally the layout is still here (in store) and we would like to get it out again as soon as an exhibition organiser invites it.

The Calder Vale Mineral Railway
Michael Edge replied to Ruston's topic in UK Standard Gauge Industrial Modelling
Why not? They don't have to turn round or move very far, just leave the wires underneath in a loop.
