  1. Ok, cat among pigeons time. Ebay has a OO/Ho Peak Class 45 by LIMA listed right now - opinions sought.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393942962196?hash=item5bb8d49014:g:rA4AAOSwwfRiDrE5 The bogie definitely is not Mainline, and the flimsiness of the buffer-beam attachment looks like this may have been a pre-production attempt by Lima - grab it someone while you can! May be a piece of history!!
  2. Excellent thread Brian, have just managed to update my media from your file for 47 033, except I seemed to need to make a new entry to do it. Could I have just refreshed my old entry somehow just for the button media? Anyway, really useful and now much easier to use. Many thanks! John
  3. Can you post any pics please? I'm Bristol so not too far.
  4. A bit late after the discussion, but there is an 03 present at St Blazey (well caption says 204 hp diesel shunter, probably sensibly as prior to TOPS) in John Vaughan's Rails to Newquay on p.159. It's seen hiding behind the water tower! Green 08s there (D4008 foreground) with steam at back .. a scene I hope to recreate in essence.
  5. I did post to another thread, but saw your question and thought you may like my video of the UK Steam in a Bachmann Prairie:- Fitting: Running: I am now planning on fitting a degree of working lamps! Did you go for it in the end?
  6. Just uploaded my video that includes your wonderful layout on display at the Railwells Show. Hope you like it! I am having some issues with focus with this camera - must upgrade asap! Cheers! John
  7. Yes... two videos up (forgot to update this site until now - oops!) - shows my prairie double headed with a 56xx on china clay - using the articulated synched sound capability.. - a full-length video of me fitting the decoder and speaker to my Bachmann prairie - not for the feint hearted! I'll post more when I get another around-tuit! Cheers!
  8. Having had a problem as per my last post, thankfully a damaged motor connection proved to blame, and she now runs beautifully! I have adjusted acceleration and deceleration to 200 and 50, which are pretty good, but loving it especially now I've altered the chuff rate to match wheel rotation! So realistic! The dynamic engine sound gives a more powerful chuff if you open her up, gradually automatically reducing until speed is reached. F5 gives a drift mode which is cool, and love F16 water fill. Only thing I would add is a shovelling/coaling sound which is very absent. Is that because all us locos are mechanically coaled? If so, shouldn't that have a sound?? Video to be loaded as soon as I can get a round tuit.
  9. Ok, just got my Econami fitted in my Bachmann 00 Prairie today and working - albeit until it apparently 'ran out of steam' (or at least that's how it appeared to me - it suddenly went slower and slower and slower and stopped - sounds still working (very nicely I have to say!) except for the sound of the Cylinder Cocks on F4 - this alone - and not moving either direction, now don't work! Arggh. Tried, at a first shot, using the F16 Water Stop sound feature - very nicely opended the 'water hatch' and filled her up... but no use. Tried factory reset but unfortunately didn't fix it. There's a possibility that the CV's are locked (a nice feature for consisting that helps prevent accidently changing the other decoder) - so I need to check that, which looks a little involved - as does most of this decoder's features from the various lengthy manuals!!! At least is has a 90 day Warranty.... Other items to consider I've realised... 1. This decoder is default set for DCC not DC (I've seen that done elsewhere too.) Therefore, if you don't have a DCC Controller and you buy this chip intending to run it on DC, you need to get your supplier to ensure they set it first to DC mode so yuou can actually use it! Or find a friend who can fix it! 2. I started this for test purposes on DC - and then noticed the strange glow from the chip! I thought something was a bout to fry! Turns out the chip has onboard LEDs for trouble-shooting. This would be a very nice feature, if 1. the chi wasn't being placed in a steam loco cab that now emits a blue glow....! And 2. that actually flashed the required sequence when you did the reset! Of course, it may be locked.... Hmmph. Overall though, I love this!! I just hope I can get it going again. Any ideas, do shout! PS Happy New Year! PPS Video to follow when fixed!!!
  10. Well, it's Nov 2016, and I have managed to purchase one of the Britush steam sound Econami chips at Warley 2016, and will be fitting to a OO Bachmann Prairie, and will post a u-tube vid link here when done!
  11. Fitting a small part of these fascinating lines into any layout is a challenge for me - so there's definitely something to be said for going minimal, and I love your approach! Will follow with interest, even if my own layout will, at least for now, stay rediculously oversized, way too complicated, and still very nowhere near starting properly!!!
