  1. I would be interested As a beginner in model railways any insights into techniques used for various parts of the layouts is invaluable
  2. I am in the same boat An old Hornby Thomas breakdown set A four foot by one shelf Struggling for ideas as to how to proceed Will never have space for a large roundy roundy so industrial looks like the best way to go with a couple of used points maybe an inglenook
  3. Just bought gaugemaster combi so hopefully sorted now
  4. Having re-ignited my interest in railway modelling, I have a dilemma All I have left from my dalliance several years ago is a Hornby Thomas breakdown set and an old 0-4-0 loco origin unknown but Hornby The controller which came with the set has just gone 'pop'. Can you recommend a reasonable replacement Thanks Gary
  5. My interest in model railways has been rekindled and I seem to remember an interesting thread in the rmweb archives which showed lot's of layout designs from the above mentioned I cannot seem to find these now Are these still accessible somewhere?
  6. Any politician Anyone on a so called 'celebrity' special Love the buildings
  7. Thanks for the reply yes i have a 'cheap' airbrush and compressor which was donated to me by a failed cake decorator. they go for about £40n on ebay practised with watered down ink will bite the bullet shortly with paint on the 2 08's which cost me around £20 for the pair
  8. Inspired by this thread, what paint/color do you use for BR blue? Apologies if its somewhere in the topic could not see a reference As a 'first' time attempt would a pair of old ,cheap class 08's be a good starting point, i already have these Thanks Gary
  9. Quick question - how much do you water down the ink before using? Thanks Gary
