  1. Agree and an excellent Handbook (fortunately still have mine though bit grubby) Interesting too the NE wagons are clearly labelled return to Singer. Number of Austerity 0-6-0 were not constructed by Barclay Grant Ritchie also constructed & one preserved. Burntisland Aluminium Works had a Peckett
  2. Plan C on circuitous way home. Stopped off at Goxhill (remarkably intact?) & caught 66 078 working on way home at my usual haunt (though Network Rail) seems to to have I/D crisis
  3. After 2Q30 according to real-time trains. Appears got to Hexthorpe Junction & next report was at Doncaster ie avoided a scenic trip to Barton & yours truly. Ended up Plan B at Thornton Abbey
  4. Had jaunt to Hull, not helped by issues on M180 today it seems. Excuse for 15 minutes at Barnetby. The Northern service heading back via Brigg
  5. Interesting day: Started chauffeuring wife to Orthopaedic Clinic at Lincoln County Hospital, quick lunch at Doddington Hall (jolly nice) & a detour on way home to a couple of lesser visited spots. Hard to imagine there was a lot of Iron Ore & Chalk mining in the past fairly close by. Moortown Station today & adjacent minor road level crossing.
  6. Visitors from Derby RTC today. More than a tad wet & didn’t hang around for reversal. Some more hardy souls on platform did
  7. If my history is correct this was virtually same site as a fatal accident involving NBR Atlantic on an express working. It resulted in extensive coal rails on some the locomotive tenders.
  8. I suspect it’s Waverley in Edinburgh. Salisbury Crags in background
  9. Something different today. Went with mate to Mathewsons of Bangers & Cash fame to view Aston Martin DB 9 pre auction. Lots of lovely items to have a “punt” at even found another Z3 to add, but been advised have too many toys already. Had a great few hours & spotted this in the “small” part of sale. Unfortunately no provenance so won’t touch with barge pole. Yorkshire Wolds Railway closed so viewed as passing. The diesel under restoration I had ride on when cement works existed in Melton. Posted images but lost in server crash.
  10. More accurately it is Edinburgh & on mainline opposite Craigentinny Carriage Sidings. Portobello power station in background. The coach tended to live in edges Waverley Station & shame didn’t survive.
  11. Dave’s Railpics covers the area & some special workings as I recall. Think some on my thread (particularly the signal boxes) but may have be lost in the server crash.
  12. Nothing too exciting. In town on Sunday & happened on this. Generally EMR services are 2 coaches but changes on Sunday only.
  13. Next quick circuit: back to Barnetby & as quiet back off to Brigg which is not the most scenic venue in the world I’m afraid. Engineering working was unexpected bonus as running very very late.
  14. Currently Keadby Canal Bridge is under maintenance/repair so some services diverted by Brigg. Visited 3 sites today and images attached Firstly Kettleby LC on single section between Brigg & Wragby
